Just sneaking in - and only moderately confused..

Panama, NY(Zone 5a)

Hi all,
I started jumping around in Web gardens a couple of years ago - have traded with a lot of you at GW, and was invited here - but where do you find the time???
Little old farm garden in western NY - that's 500 miles from the city, don't go there, don't care to. We have a dairy herd of Holsteins, 2 Border Collies - Mollie and Sadie ( Sid died at Christmas after 2 lives and a lot of goofiness), 2 grown daughters, 2 sweet grands. I have a lot of old garden roses and 5 double column legal sheets of seeds.
I'll try to keep up!

Hi Kathleen, welcome! I am at home all day and I pop in and out of here often. When the weather starts to straighten up, I'm sure I'll only be here 6 times a day instead of 20! LOL! I just pop in often, come inside for a drink, pop in, get lunch together, watch the news, pop in...etc...etc..I just love it here. These folks are my friends. Most days it is my only adult conversation that I have. It gives me something to talk about with DH when he gets home, other than what the goats, geese, pig, etc and DD did today.
I know, I have no life...and kinda like it that way.LOL!Lisa

Hi, Kathleen! Like notmartha and justmelisa, I'm a stay-at-home mom - three kids, all school-age. I'm helping update the contact information for a listing of mail-order seed and plant companies, so I'm on my PC a lot during the day. And with gardening season starting to heat up, I'm into this site several times a day, adding to my journal, checking out the trading, etc. I know the minute it warms up outside, I'll be hard-pressed to spend much time indoors, so I'm taking advantage of it while I can. But the gardeners here are very friendly, and the conversation's are lively....so plunge on in!

Hi Kathleen! I'm in Kennedy! Woo hoo! A fellow Chautauqua person! :)

Hi Kathleen, welcome to Dave's Garden! I'm also a Stay at home mome with 2 small kiddos, and pop in and out whenever I can. When I'm not reading the threads, I'm posting, or thinking about reading them, or thinking about posting, or thinking about what everyone else is up to, or just thinking about the life of Dave's Garden in general! LOL! I guess I have no life outside of here too! But, being Dave's wife- what do you expect?

Great to have you!

Hi! I pop in and out too, including during my two breaks and 1/2 hour lunch at work. Everybody just shakes their heads when they see me on a gardening site, but I enjoy talking with all these people so much more than all the people that think I am crazy for trading seeds a gardening. I don't visit many other sites any more. Hope you enjoy your time here. Mick

Hi Kathleen - Now that's a lovely Irish name to be sure. Do you have Irish connections? My late father, was from Belfast. My late husband, was from Dublin, God bless them both. So I guess Im half English and half Irish. I see you joined here on 15th February (my birthday). I joined on the 18th. I too have been around, mostly travel, have 2 kids and 2 grandchildren. About to settle now and put down roots. Moving into new house, new garden very soon and although Im very excited about the whole thing, I'm just wondering where I'm going to get all the strength from. A garden from scratch at my age? LOL. Anyway just wanted to say hi and introduce myself. I think we are going to love this site!

Louisa,
My mother's intention was to name me Katrin - a bit more Dutch, which is a bit of my background - lots of English and Scots as well with a bit of French Canadian - but she was living in an Irish neighborhood when I was born and all the Kat names came out Kathleen!
I didn't start from scratch so much as there was more "garden" here than I even imagined having rented the farm for 22 years. When we finally bought the whole place, I found, and am still finding, plants that I had no idea were here. It was a goldenrod and wild raspberry jungle. The elderly woman who had owned the place wanted no one to help her - she kept saying "You don't know what's in there, you'll step on something!" Well, after 7 years, I'm still finding stuff!

Most of the time I just go to the forums and click on seed trading or plant trading. I also change my trading page from time to time. But when I have a little time, I like to go to the general forums and see what Dave and the gang are up to.
