I love the eliptica(?)--type plants, don't have the space--sigh. So I am glad when they get posted here---waiting for those orchids Digger!
Jan OT blooms
Sy that is so sweet. Don't you just love it when they see something new?
They are just too cute!!
WOW, Wild Rose. She is a keeper for sure!
Thank you! I had wanted this one for a long time... just finally bought it this fall!
Love it! First I've seen it--do you have a pic of the plant....and what is the smell like?
wild very nice
Wow! Beautiful Begonia! I had no idea there was such a thing as a fragrant begonia! Love the foliage but that bloom is really pretty too!
Nice!!! Looks much nicer than mine-- it is just hanging in there!
And they have it at Logee's! Woo-Hoo! Thanks! It'll be on my list next trip there.
That's where I got this plant pheobe!
Wheeee! We'll be begonia in laws....or something like that. LOLOL!
Ok, now . . . keep it cean!
I only have one type of begonia in my house - Iron Cross. Here is a pic of one of the bigger leaves - covering up my hand . . . had to spread the fingers so they could be seen . . .
Now, to go work out, and try and figure out what to do with many of my plants if we move into an apartment . . . going apartment hunting tomorrow . . .
Look real hard, Nichole, for a 3 bedroom apartment. One for you and yours, one for the kids and one for a growing room office!!!
I tell you what . . . I won't have a place where I can't have a 4' shelving unit, that's for sure! I will have tape measure in hand!
You already have more than one stand, don't you?
I have the 4' wide shelving unit, the bakers rack, and the portable greenhouse shelves are currently holding the overflow . . .
I figure alot of my episcia's can go to work with me . . . there is room for 2 1020 trays on top of each side of my cubicle . . . plus, I can put some on other "anti-green" peoples' cubes . . .
I may have to put things on the Marketplace sooner than I would like . . . (and this is why I like my eliptical machine - I come up with altenatives while workin up a sweat!) I could post for "non-typical" payments/trades . . . you know, instead of plant for plant or plant for $$, I could trade plants for supplies (easily put in a closet for future use), or even maybe instead of $$, gift cards from Lowe's or H.D. . . . (also easily kept!).
I don't know. We'll see how it goes. All I know is that I canNOT stay in between yippy poodles anymore!!!

Good luck!
Here is something I saw this morning . . . I haven't had an Aeschynanthus bloom for me before, so I was excited to see it! This is Big Apple. I think the blooms may open up more, but if not, still a pretty color!
General question . . . if I am going to send a box, is it ok to wrap the plants the night before?
Yes, you can pack the night before. It doesn't matter a bit..........unless you are using a heat pack in which case you will bake the plants before they leave your house. If you don't have to use a heat pack, the better ...........
I love Big Apple!
Beautiful! Love it!
Gorgeous!!
Thanks. I figure I'll wrap the plants tonite, and just not close the box until tomorrow morning, after I put in the heat pack . . . IF I use one. I don't need a heat pack for 50-60 degree weather, do I?
Thanks. Like I said, my first bloom from it. I'm thinking of putting it into a bigger pot, so it can be put into a hanger . . .
You don't need a heating pack for plants this durable unless it is freezing, Nichole. Now.........epsicias are another story. I have both baked and frozen them in transit (LOL)
Oh, I'm not sending this one! What I am going to send is an episcia and some rooted AV leaves. I'm thinking I'll put the heat pack, just in case, but won't activate it until an hour or so before I go to the post office. I mean, just 'cause it's decent here and there, doesn't mean it will be in between . . .
Just remember that (depending on where it is going) those heating packs release heat up to 130 degrees..........so I hope it is cold wherever you are sending epicias. Tape it on the bottom or top and be sure to use some insulation between the plant material and the heat pack.
