Mississippi River American Bald Eagles

Glo, I did NOT see the nest! I'll have to look when I go again. I wonder how long they will be there. March??

Totally amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!! I want to be there!!!!!!!!!

I had a short visit at the dam yesterday to check out the eagles. There are still many there, but probably 1/2 as many as a month ago.

The ice has formed closer to the dam and it was incredibly windy. The poor eagles were really fighting the head wind while fishing.

I didn't get many good pictures, as my focus was off. This last shot is kinda fun though, shows the activity.

Gosh, it must have been cold with the ice and wind. What an experience. Did you see any fish being caught? I love the last shot.

I DID see some fish being caught. Photos are not so great though.

There was something interesting happening … Chunks of snow and ice were blowing into the water from the left to right. You can kinda see a chunk here.

That's amazing Marna. It would be nice to see something like that here.
