But what is this? (He flew away before I could get a front view) I think this is the one that keep confusing me.

And who might this be? A spot on the chest and a white stripe above the eye.

The one on the ground is the TAN FORM white-throated sparrow, or perhaps 1st winter.

3gardeners,

The 2 pics that you stated were Fox Sparrows. They look like Song Sparrows to me.

Your last pic, you stated: "And who might this be? A spot on the chest and a white stripe above the eye." Looks like an American Tree Sparrow to me.

Edited to say that Mrs Ed and I added our posts the 'same time'. I was working on mine and added it.

Thanks Wallaby and Burn...those brush piles are my treasures! Who'd a thunk it?!!

3 G...I think Marilyn and Mrs. Ed have I D'd your birds better than I could! I noticed that the Fox Sparrow doesn't have an eyebrow like the Song Sparrow. You have a nice variety in your yard!

Here is a Song Sparrow from today.

Thanks Pelle, Margaret and Nanny...I just love those sweet little birds!

And thanks for the ID's Marna, Marilyn and Resin! Those Sparrows still throw me!

Saw lots of Eastern Bluebirds and American Robins on the hill today! They sure were making a lot of noise like they were playing or something.

Thanks the ID y'all.

Those Cedar Waxwings are so striking. We don't have those. Wish we did.

Take a look at our state bird. A Brown Thrasher. And look, it has a band on it. Cool huh.

These Sparrows are driving me crazy. I'll never be able to ID them by site. I keep trying. I think I might be able to get the White Throated Sparrow, but they flit about so quickly. They are making it imposible for me to get an accurate count for my Bird Watch!

Can anyone tell me whoe these guys are?

I'd really appreciate it.

I think they are pine siskins.

Blown up and Lightened for ID…

Well, that would explain why I didn't find any of them in my sparrow listings! I couldn't place that little bit of yellow under their wings. Thanks and I'll use that Bird ID forum from now on. Thanks for letting me know about it. I should branch out of my comfort zone and check out the general forum section more often!

Yep, Pine Siskins
