Happy Birthday to Donna, one of the pioneer DGers, incredible cook, organizer, social coordinator, generous trader, and all around great lady who is always so kind and thoughtful.
She would give you the shirt off her back. (She gave me one but it didn't fit...but I kept it anyway...) (too short in the sleeves ! )
Since it's your 50th, and such a momentous occasion, here is a photo of your FAVORITE flower!
Have a fun day working on the Rose Parade floats and may you have many more happy birthdays!

Happy Birthday SoCal !!!
Happy Birthday, Donna....I was going to tell you just how many nurseries were within 50 miles of you and how you should go hit them all today, but I guess you're busy....Working on the floats, cool. Send my early Happies to Jerry also, I know his is coming up too.

Thank you for the Birthday wishes my dear friends.
I had a wonderful Birthday today!! I got to do something I've always wanted to do, help decorate the Rose parade floats. I had a great time and met a lot of nice people also.
I got home about 5:30 and then hubby took me out for a lovely Chinese dinner. I've been craving it for several months now, so I finally splurged tonight. :-)))
I also worked on the floats on Sunday and between the two days, my old body is mad at me and making me hurt very badly. Today I was about 10-12 ft. up on some scafolding and I had to reach way over and push flower picks into fiberglass. You should have seen the position I had to be in to do this....not pretty at all. lol
Thanks again,
Donna
ps, Mike, thanks for the lovely compliments....now give me back my shirt. lol
Happy birthday! Glad you had a nice birthday Donna.
Is that a new haircut I see? You are looking good, my friend! Which float?
Oh boy another float to cheer on! Every New Year's Day, I watch the Rose Parade and take down the Christmas Tree. I always have the Cal Poly Float to cheer and the Kiwanis International float, now I'll have what appears to be a surfer dude float to cheer for too.
Seriously, whose float did you work on?

Kathleen, yes, my hair is a little short right now. Went to a new hairdresser!! It will grow.
I worked on my cities float...Huntington Beach. It is our Centennial this year and we were honored to have a float for the first time. It's "Surf City USA" and it's all about the big wave and barbeques with family. The picture above has the float in the background, undecorated at that time.
Got to run to dads house now,
Donna
Donna, the new 'do' is very flattering! Will watch for the float - I'm sure we will be able to spot your handiwork.
Donna...I loved the float ya'll did...and it won the Mayor's Trophy!! GREAT!! I hope I get to come see that parade in person some day!! Jo
Rats! I'll be watching the parade as soon as I find the remote control DH swiped! : |
Glad to hear that it won the Mayors Trophy, and I can't wait to see it!
Happy New Years!

I'm a little late but good wishes are going your way. Hope it was all you expected.
Thank you Arlene and Kell for the belated wishes. At my time of life (50 cough, cough) everyday can be your birthday. lol
