i planted bulbs in medium sized pots and they did very well, already up this year. in our area, the ground doesnt freeze and typically the weather is too warm for even pots to freeze.

These Daffs were here for several years...in full blooms at present, so are my paperwhites (which bloomed back in Nov. - the usual time for paperwhites).

Here are my Narcissus tazetta x italicus

The first time them have bloomed for me. According to the books these are common along the Gulf Coast and old cemeteries in the South.

Rylaff, They look a lot like yours. Do you know which variety you have in the photo at the top of this thread?

YIPPEE! Crocii!!!! Thanks Chrisw99. I'm pretty sure my crocii must be doing something under their 2 feet of snow (well maybe not but I can be hopeful ^_^)

Crocus bloomed from zone 9 (as above), now it's blooming here in zone 7! Hang on everyone, yours are coming up right around the corner.

First daff is ready to open. Will be tomorrow, I bet. Crocus' are looking like the the one LilyLove posted. Bulbs are popping up everywhere now. Even though we'll get more cold weather (and perhaps very very cold weather), spring has begun here in zone 7b. Ahhhhhhhhhh

And they poo-pooed spring on the Groundhog Poll. Ha! I just KNEW you folks would be prove them wrong ^_^ GO Southerners GO! We in the Northern climes are cheering!!

Kannapolis, NC

Thanks, Dahlianut. We Southerners appreciate the rah-rahs! We give you early spring; you give us lupines, which we can't grow at all. I think that's a fair exchange, don't you?

My daffs aren't blooming yet but are full of buds. I do have camellia japonica blooming, hellebores and daphne!

Oh, yes, by all means the lilacs! Thank you to all our Canadian friends! Spring is coming your way soon. I'm sending warm wishes for you all.
