Happy Holidays Karen....

Wishing happy holidays - as well as positive, creative approaches to difficult times where needed - back atcha, Karen, Theresa and All.

What with certain Alpha-personalities, it seemed like a Clash of Titans in the kitchen yesterday morning hundreds of miles from home. DH and I lurked in the living room, but the moment came, when we all sat down to share Christmas dinner, that peace indeed came over the *Lambs* and *Tigers* - it was magical - and I suspect that the Robin-eggshell sky and Easter-like weather helped quite a bit.

Dad was happily shocked - at the age of 90 - that I did the clean-up. What with his parents born into a southern farm community, Sundays involved a major dinner (from scratch old-style) that included the preacher and his family, more sermons, and an evening dinner including the preacher, etc. In those times, with large farm families, clean-up took up the entire following day.

It just seems like Christmas was such a layered experience yesterday - 1874 (my grandparents' birthdays) seemed alive and well in 2008. Does anyone else experience that?

Am back home with oodles of primrose seeds* to sow - am looking at a very chortlesome day -

I have some primrose seeds too! Maybe I will try them and we can compare results, John.

Happy New Year everyone!

I would like that. I have bought a number of packages from TM and from swallowtail. It may be the beginning of another gardening addiction. I had always assumed that primroses were like pansies....you bought them for temporary bloom and then they died. I just recently found that they can grow quite well here if given lots of moisture. I will let you know seandor when the seeds arrive and are planted.

Excellent! edited to add - I just bought four little primroses at the grocery store (was going through flower withdrawl, so I had to buy something!) Anyway, these can keep me company while I try to grow more primroses ^_^
