Can someone tell me what Firespike seeds look like? I have dried the seed heads but am unable to identify which part is the seed. Thanks in advance. I want to share with someone but want to be sure what I'm sending is correct. Marty
Firespike seed description
SteadyCam.. Have no idea what the seeds wil look like. I have firespike growing here but mine are stil in bloom.
What I woudl suggest is when in doubt, cut the seed heads off and let them dry in an open paper bag then when good and dry, close the top of the sack and shake the heckout of it. If there seeds they wil come out in bottom of sack, then dump sack on big plate or white paper incase they tiny dust size seeds.
Starlight, I will try your great idea next time. Unfortunately, I stripped off the stuff left after the spike had bloomed (and dried on the plant) and placed these on a white plate. Thus the confusion for me. Mine are still blooming too, here in Houston. Thanks for the tip.
