Social Circle, GA(Zone 8a)

Ah the stress of the holidays! Break out a bottle o bubbly - or whatever floats you - and sit back and enjoy yourself! Maybe if you giggle at the show they'll stop and think what they're doing to you?

Jacksonville, FL(Zone 8b)

Not my sister! She is more of a nut than I am.

Tonasket, WA(Zone 5a)

LL, Tonasket is just 20 miles south of Canadian border, South of Osooyos, or North of Wenatchee, very small town. I live four miles west of Tonasket in the hills. I have an ongoing invitation to spend Christmas Eve with good friends and their family about 10 or 12 miles away, which I have done and enjoyed many times. BUT it started snowing here this morning at 7:30 am and hasn't stopped, snowing lightly but supposed to snow harder from now on until morning again, so I am staying home. The road is a twisty turny kind of steep road for 3 miles, but the temp. is cold enough so no snow has been melting, but I still feel better for me to stay home.

Canton, GA(Zone 7b)

So, after the temps in the teens earlier this week, it's mild enough that I just went outside barefoot, with no jacket... And it's thundering and lightning. Crazy GA weather!

Hope you're all staying warm while waiting for Santa!

Foley, MO

Freezing rain yesterday. Now everytime I go out to the chicken's pen I 'bout break my neck! Oh, and the ducks....they take a running start and then slide on their bellies. Very cute. It's very very slick out here!

Vancouver, WA(Zone 8a)

I made it out and back safe and sound. The inlaws wanted to cancel. They don't have traction tires or chains or anything but 2-wheel drive. I convinced them we could come to them. then things seemed fine enough that we made the hour trek to my dad's and popped in on him, my step mom, stepsis, and stepbro, unexpected. It was a lot of fun. :)

Jacksonville, FL(Zone 8b)

Good morning, Merry Christmas, It rained here in Ga. and I am not sticking my noise out the door.

It is peaceful here this morning!!! 4 more days before I can go home.
Were where the rings? Right where she put them but under a baggy with bread in it. The stove and the ice box both get moved and a metal detector was used on the casserole and two bags of trash where gone through.

Lodi, CA(Zone 9b)

Donna,

Sounds like sleigh weather! If I lived up north I'd definitely have a driving horse and sleigh for just such weather! I hope you are having a nice Christmas anyway! Like Drivenbonkers. I love to see her sleigh photos.

Merry Christmas to all of you!

Ferndale, WA

Hey L.L'S I was sure you'd have more snow than that. We measured in front yard and it was almost forty inches, the back measures almost 10 inches more, thats because of how the wind blows up here. I spent from 7am today untill 12:30 shoveling the snow off of our roof. They forecasted sleet and rain for tonight and we had over two feet of snow on our roof and was afraid with that much getting rained on it might just be heavy enough to crush us. It was so beautiful up on top of the roof, everything was so white and pristine looking. Back to reality, when comming back down the ladder I fell about five feet, there was so much snow it was like falling on marshmallows. The only trouble was when i put my hands down to assist my getting up they just disappeared into the snow which made it hard to get up. Know whats so funny, with all this crazy weather with a flock of thirty two I'm still getting 16-18 eggs daily. Tomorrow I will spend probably all day trying to dig my truck out, I only have to go about 75 ft to the road, but with this much snow I will still be an all day job. My Beautiful wife cooked me a beautiful Christmas dinner and bought me two foot high chicken statue. I love her so. Haystack

Elbridge, NY(Zone 5a)

You must have been very good! I bet it is a beautiful statue!
Now we have to work on getting that statue on the other thread! The one Jyl made!
That was awesome!
I am so thankful that you are okay and did not get hurt when you fell! So many people get hurt every year doing that very same thing! It should be on that show, Dangerous Jobs, or is that Dirty Jobs? either way....
We had a great dinner. I ate way too much and need days to digest! The kids had a wonderful day as well. They have played all day. So much fun!
You need to have a plow person Haystack! That is a long drive to shovel.
Have a wonderful night! Take care!

Hi Harm: Since i'm fairly new, I did not quite understand what the problem was that Dave was dealing with. Maybe you could enlighten me.

Jacksonville, FL(Zone 8b)

There where people or one person coming on making trouble. Case closed.

Tonasket, WA(Zone 5a)

Hi everyone, Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas. Haystack glad you only fell on marshmallows!!!!!

I went to my friends for Christmas Eve afterall, the new snow did not creat a problem. So had a really nice evening with my friends and their families. Yesterday my neighbors stopped by and picked me up to go to a nice Christmas Day dinner sponsored by a Tavern in town. the food was good but the noise was way too loud for my hearing, and if that weren't enough they also had a fellow playing and singing. Anyway it was different. My youngest son and part of his grown family are coming Sunday to spend a couple of days. They are driving over two snowy passes to get here about 5 hours if weather not too bad. I will be glad to see them, they are bringing all the food!!!!

Social Circle, GA(Zone 8a)

I'm glad you weren't alone! Though at times yesterday I was wishing I was!

I'm still here! I wasn't the troublemaker? :D I missed some trouble-making? Oh, yes there was that one odd one - was it that one on the Chicken and Cats thread?

(Zone 7b)

Social Circle, GA(Zone 8a)

Thank you so much Harmony! Did your heat get fixed? It's been warm a few days now. I think I need a wood burning stove or something.....just in case. It always happens when DH is not here so I got to fix it meself or deal!

(Zone 7b)

My heat has a bandaid on it should hold up till spring then i may have to get a second job to have a new heating system put in.
Yes a woodstove is a lifesaver when the lights go out we have heat and it's flat on top so we can cook too.
