Bagpipes: do you play?

Houston, United States(Zone 9b)

There was no "musical" forum under leisurely pursuits so I'm not sure where best to post this.

But I'm looking on Amazon (not the ideal place to buy instruments I'm sure but at least there I can view ratings). Most have poor reviews.

Do you play? If yes, what/where would you suggest I buy some? Ideally I'd like a book and DVD to help learn.

(No, it's not for me but my best friend).

This one *looks* good but with no reviews I'm not about to buy it. What say you? http://www.amazon.com/Highland-Bagpipes-Learning-Interactive-Rosewood/dp/B001FFNAA6/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=musical-instruments&qid=1229013182&sr=1-2

I like that the course includes CD videos etc.

Hello, checked with sisters' friend-he has been playing for more years than she has, and she has been playing and marching for 20 years.
When I mentioned that someone had asked about buying on-line he yelped NO!!
Talked about notes, where made etc. as being able to be tuned to...
He offered to "talk" with you if you want to give me your e-mail, will get it to him.

I'll ask my DH if he was still interested. Seems while he thinks this would be fun to learn I think he suggested some other instrument recently?

Like I said, online wasn't the ideal place to buy but it was nice to gleam some insights by the reviews ppl post. :)
