I just wonder?

Very inspirational and quite a success for a child of any age. She should be proud of herself and her accomplishment. I know you must be, Gail. Apples don't fall far from the tree as the saying goes.

It is the least I can do for my grandchildren as my Grandma was the gardener in our family. I have to confess that her little sister would rather be playing with the frogs and all insects......well.......how about 'all of God's creatures' go in the terrarium for the day but she puts them all back out in nature very gently at the end of the play day. She actually loves to hold and play with frogs......eeek!

WOW! Yes, a young gardener for sure with your loving care and her continued work. She is doing such a wonderful job! I got my love of gardening from my Nana and my mom. Making memories is so important.

I see absolutely nothing wrong with the 2' shop lights. Yes, I know that most say the 4' is the only way to go . . . but like phoebesviolets said (basically) - not everyone has a 4' shelving unit. It really depends on the number of plants you have per shelf/light, anyway. Here is a pic of the bakers rack it took me a few weeks to refinish . . . it still is not complete, but I am working on it here and there. Each of the 3 lights are the 2'ers from Walmart. I did go and purchase a few WS 24" bulbs . . . so now there is 1 WS and 1 cool white in each fixture (which, according to "Growing To Show . . . ", is a great combination!). Someday I will do something about the top shelf and how to light it. I don't want to put anything into the ceiling now, until we decide if we will stay in this house or not . . . I do have another 2' light, if I do decide to hang it from a ceiling. We'll see.

I am anticipating babies from the leaf DS stuck last month any time . . . he will be so excited! Your granddaughter is doing better than me on streps, Gail!

Very nice Syrumani--I have 2 stands with 2ft lights also--I'm too tired to post a pic right now.
Gail--I just saw your post about your Grandaughter playing with frogs...I was the same way! It was always a special treat to find a frog, toad, or snake, or butterfly/catapillar to make a home for and observe,,,used to keep em for a few days before letting go. I had little flower gardens from seed. in the summer also.

Where did you buy the 24 inch lights? I have a stand I would like to use them on. Thanks, Lou

Jasper, AR(Zone 7a)

I bought 24" double lights at Home depot--these are meant to be hard wired-- but I just put a cord & plug on it. You can buy 24" under-counter lights at walmart-- but they have an over-all length of 27"

Thanks! We have a Home Depot, so I will check it out. Lou
