THANK YOU EVERYONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We just got back from a 3682.2 mile vacation that was part vacation, birthday present, and Christmas present all rolled into one.

So Diann you aren't the only one to have missed my birthday......so did I!

Actually.... we had a great time in the southwest and my DMIL made me a cake for my birthday, so I guess it didn't go totally unnoticed :-)

edited for grammar, too bad I left my grammatical brain in CA.! Can tiredness be an excuse?

Sure did! Had some wonderful times I hope I never forget.

Santa Fe was wonderful, wish we could have stayed longer. Really enjoyed the Mitchell Caverns and Hole in the Wall. I would love to do more than just drive through Flaggstaff and Albequerque. Drove through our first dust storm in NM ( we were on the edge of it). Saw the Blue Hole in Santa Rosa.

Sat on the interstate in Texas for 25 minutes or so while they fought a small grassfire in 40mph winds... they did great and got it stopped at the interstate, it could have become a monster I'm sure.

Drove through the Palo Duro Canyon by Amarillo and decided we need to come back with the horses! The American Quarter Horse Museum was closed, bummer... don't try to go on a Sunday in the 'off' season.

Oh, did I mention coming out $2.20 ahead at the casino in Laughlin? Put $6.00 in and got $8.20 out before I got terribly bored with it and started thinking of all the lily bulbs I could purchase with that money! (There, I said something about lilies LOL)

Had a bit of nasty weather between Tulsa and Joplin (gotta go back to Joplin) so spent the night in Joplin. Stopped at Cabela's and finally arrived safe and almost sound around 7 last night!

Whew!

I'm glad you had a great time and glad you're home safe and sound!! The last time I was at Palo Duro Canyon I was five or six... The most I remember about Palo Duro is the red earth that turns into red sticky mud. :) LOL My older brothers went down the Devil's Slide. Man, that's been a long time ago.
