This past week, had my credit card stolen, cars in my yard broke into 100.00 stolen from a car. All the glove boxes open in ALL the vehicles. Thank goodness they didnt slice any tires. All the gates to both chicken coops wide open(the wind could not have caused that, they have to be lifted to be opened) About 50 birds DEAD, just dead no trauma to them. The horses were led out of the property, the GP went to doggy jail. Filed a police report.

How awful. How were the birds killed if there was no trauma? Did someone suffocate them or poison them or something? I hope the police can help you figure it out.
I have no idea who would want to hurt me like this. But as an animal lover this is the quickest way to get to my heart. This hurts me so much. To go after poor defenseless animals. they did no one wrong. I am in tears.
but then again only true animals lovers would know this

Has anyone else in the neighborhood had any problems? I just can't believe someone would be so cruel. money can be replaced but to do such horrible things to your animals is unexcusable. I hope the police find out who did this and throws them in jail.
Is there anyway to do an autopsy to find out what happened?

That is very scary as it seems that someone was not out to just get some quick money as much as hurt you. I think a normal burgalar would have been off with the money and not bothered to mess with all your animals like that. Do you have an angry ex or someone that knows you well enough but is crazy enough to target you personally. This would disturb me very much as it seems to me to have been personal.
I am with meg_e! This was not a simple robbery.
Someone took the time to ruin far more than property.

This is too awful for words and very frightening. Is there someone you can stay with for awhile? I don't think it's safe to stay there. O the poor animals.
I`m with everyone else,I know how I felt when I lost one my chickens to my dog.You should not be alone,have someone come and stay with you untill police can find something out.I have no tolerance for anyone that hurts animals of any kind.
What a messed up thing to do!! Money - whatever, credit cards - a pain in the ass, but to do bad things to your animals???????

Dear Tia: I'm both shocked and flabbergasted, I just can't imagine the cruel heart behind this kind of a sensless act. I know there must be some way we can help out, I would be willing to send fifty-dollars to a p.o. box to at least replace some of the birds, or you could D-mail us and tell us how we could help. I am so sorry for this cruel act someone has visited upon you. Tell us what to do to help. Haystack. Have you been able to determine what killed the chickens, I mean fifty chickekns is a lot of chickens. This was premedatated, no doubt.
Oh my goodness, no I am safe, I have the gates locked. The money is not an issue. Now my birds are. Thanks for the offers of help, please this was not a way to get help from anyone. I just needed to vent, I am very very upset that someone would hurt my animals.
I do think this was to get at me. Anyone that knows me knows my animals are my life. Well next to my grandkids. But that is a given. I think I will take a stance the next time they who ever they are will meet the (as a very good friend of mine said) business end of a shotgun.

Lynching is still on the books in Alberta. Punishment for horsetheft and we would enforce it here as this is ranch country. We take crimes against our animals very seriously. Please be careful luvs until they catch this horrible person/persons.
Yes lynching is still in the book here also. I washed everything up. It had to be someone the GP knew, he would not have let someone take the horses. We recovered the animals, and gave one of the horses to a family that has small children to ride her and the other horse we gave to a ranch that gives schools tours and gives kids riding lessons. We got the dog out of doggy jail and he is so sad looking for the horses.
When we went to get the dog the animal control guy said that they had to take the dog because when they were loading up the horses from the side of the road, the dog was not going to let that happen.
On my credit card/bank card, there was a transaction that I didnt make so i have the bank investigating it.
I use to work for a private investigator so I will find out who it is.
Again like others said I also believe it was someone to target me.

Could it have been some stupid teens?
My neighbors cat was shot on her property and the theory is that it was a teen (because it was a pellet). The pellet hit the cat in the spine and it was instantly paralyzed. She had to put Joey down. Now her cats are indoors. But it is disturbing to think that there is someone capable of such cruelty in your area.

We gave the horses away because they were not getting enough attention from us. They were my moms, and she is getting up in age and her back is bothering her more. This way some a little girl will get her a pony for Christmas. And my grandson can go to the ranch that the other horse went to and ride him when ever he wants to.

Absolutely horrible. How did someone kill 50 chickens with no trauma? Makes no sense at all, why would someone do this??? If it were me, Id gather up some money and post a reward for information. People are so desparate for money, they'd turn their own mother in if they could make a buck. Someone who would do this wouldnt do it alone, and Im sure they would blab to someone what they did. Im so very sorry, I can't even imagine such devastation.

Do you have an investigator? Did they take the dead ones for autopsy? I saw them do this on Animal Cops NY. They actually arrested a guy for transporting Chickens, uncovered, in freezing weather and it killed the poor skinny birds. We don't have any such luxury here, but we do have the Dept. of Ag.

Got good news today. The animal welfare came out because of a call from someone who use to live here. They inspected the chicken area and the chickens and found no problem with the area. The lady that came out said this person had been to the shelter many times these past 2 weeks making complaints. Well I passed with flying colors. Will this ever end?
Looks like they may be the culprit! I am not zoned for chickens/goats, and animal welfare was sent out, but loved how well I take care of my animals. I keep my immediate neighbors happy with eggs, so they don't complain. Any chance animal welfare would give the police the name of the person that complained against you?
Yes she said when she got back to the shelter she would check and see about it. She said she was going to help in anyway she could. She loved so much how I was taking care of the birds she will be back in the spring to buy some chickens and eggs. She had chickens when her kids were young and she wants to get back into it. She was very pleasant. She had her catcher thing with her and i thought OMG she is here to take all my chickens. I am just tickled that she thought I was doing a great job. No skinny yucky looking birds here.
