This pic is very questionable..
Me and Cody were goo gooing over the 2 new chicks.. I remember him saying..Wow.. Olive is big.. but I love that lil gray one!
So if Olive wasn't gray..

Here is a pic I just found..

The head spot in the newborn pics shows light at the front of the head, progressing to brighter as it goes towards the neck, and the light part seems to go down around the cheeks.

I only saw one blue egg chick come out of the shell and it was all gray with no white tips on the wings. Olive had tiny white tips.

This head spot seems to match, in my opinion.. but it has tufted cheeks! I think that is the Gray one I described above!

I'm wishy washy.. I know

I'm feeling guilty for teasing you on the photographic evidence...

Lodi, United States

When they fluff up the differences in size and color get terribly muddled. I always think I will know--and I rarely do. And you had sooooo many to look at.

Clarkson, KY

So true. And they change hourly!

Lodi, CA(Zone 9b)

So it's not just me??????????? LOL You knew it all along??????

Olive is lost forever???????

Oh noooooooooo!

Big Lake, MN(Zone 4a)

Guess you will have to keep them all. Just have to rename all of them Olive then for sure you would have the right one, and hope they are not all roos.

Elbridge, NY(Zone 5a)

Olive...come back! I guess Surreeybrit is right...gotta keep um all!

Clarkson, KY

Surrey's right. Keep Olive them.

Lodi, CA(Zone 9b)

AAAAAAAAAAAahh ROFLMBO!!!! That was perfect Grow!!! Screamin funny!

Well.. the good part is.. we have it narrowed down to 3.. I think 2 of those are pullets.. so if that is the case, we are in luck.

I'm allowed 30 hens and one roo. go figure! On 5 acres on the outermost part of town..

Lodi, United States

Yeh--how we gonna do that, ZZ? I think I have a Turken cockerel hiding among the ladies.

Oxford, NS(Zone 5b)

I'm allowed 12 chickens. I have approaching 100....

Lodi, United States

But...but...Moxon--you're in Iowa! How can they do that to you in Iowa?

Oxford, NS(Zone 5b)

Well supposedly it's part of the "homeowners association" agreement, but we are the only home in it. Some of the area around us is for sale for potential development. When I asked the guys who own the land now about the 12 chicken thing, they laughed and said that they came up with those numbers over drinks one night, and it's fine as long as nobody complains. I pointed out that they had no llama llimit. They llaughed. I am allowed 4 sheep, 4 goats, 4 cows, 2 horses, 12 chickens. I have exceeded all but the cow and horse limits. I figure several mini goats=1 horse. It all balances out.

Lodi, United States

They have some ungainly animal unit formula around here-- you are allowed so many animal units per acre and it can be filled various ways. Horses are very animal unit expensive.

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

Stuff and nonsense I say!! !These limits are pure funky weirdness! HELLO Chicken and Livestock police we're talking farms!!!! ok ninja dahlianut is armed with blue smarties and very ticked off now! Just point me in the right direction my friends!

Lodi, United States

Start with Iowa! If you succeed there, we will engage your services in the darkest wilds of California.

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

Brilliant as always Catscan. Good place to start with Claire's knowledge of the legalities. Waiting for direction CPO Moxon

Lodi, CA(Zone 9b)

Only ONE roo Catscan? What have I got, 20? LOL

I have a lady Turken hiding in with the boys.. I think there is a Cuckoo Marans Lady too.. All I do is stare at them trying to figure it out.

Lodi, CA(Zone 9b)

Anyway, Don't they mean one roo of each breed? LOL

Lodi, United States

That is how I read it. One roo per breed--so as not to produce mutts that cannot be homed--except in Iowa where Moxon is the universal homer.

Clarkson, KY

Oh Dear, The Homer Pigeon...{{groan}}

Elbridge, NY(Zone 5a)

I can not even imagine how they come up with these crazy numbers and laws!
NY has the # per acre. Chickens there is no number...unless you are within the village limits, then the number is 0. Thankfully, I am not in the village. Those village people are tough! YMCA
Okay, getting goofy.
I am so happy Olive is down to 3! Good news ZZ!

Victoria, BC(Zone 8a)

OMG!!! Homer is a pigeon?? Wait till I tell Marge!

Lodi, CA(Zone 9b)

I have a dear friend Marge that lives in NY. She is not a pigeon, but she is a love.
Isn't Homer a great name? LOL The boy's names are the easiest for me to come up with..
Like I wanna name that lil Silkie Chuck (Chuck Norris)

Clarkson, KY

Aww, D'I miss again? I thought pigeons were people who would take whatever you dished out?

Is Chuck really Buff?

Lodi, United States

Here, grownut....here, grownut....see the nice rock I found for you? Now pop right under and take a little rest:0)

Clarkson, KY

Rock?! Where!?!........

Lodi, CA(Zone 9b)

LOL I love it.. I set you up good don't I? Tooo funny!

Oxford, NS(Zone 5b)

The Universal Homer? I'll go with Universal Rehomer. I don't want to be associated with the Simpsons in any way, shape or form.

Lodi, CA(Zone 9b)

Can't blame you on that one!

Clarkson, KY

Outta touch me, I forgot the Simpsons -eeewwww. (back under rock)

Elbridge, NY(Zone 5a)

Is Chuck really Buff? ROFLOL!

Lodi, CA(Zone 9b)

Yeah Sewincircle! Wasn't that a riot!!?? What about keep Olive them.. LOL

Clarkson, KY

You know I always thought the joy in punning was watching others suffer while the punner punned. Sadistic sport. But if y'all can put up an' grimace along with....(deh, heh-heh heh...) My brain's a wild and woolly place these days...

Elbridge, NY(Zone 5a)

I think you are very punny Grow! Wild and woolly? Sounds dangerous! hehehe

Clarkson, KY

Just nobody get out the shears!! I bleat horribly!!lolol
