How to clean BeautyBerry seeds and id ? Mex. Sunflower seeds

DeLand/Deleon Spring, FL(Zone 8b)

What's the best way to clean Beauty Berry seeds and what do the Mexican Sunflower seeds look like? I just pulled some drying berries off my Beauty Berry, and also just received some Mexican Sunflowers yesterday, some of the blooms were drying and there is what looks like seeds but they don't look like your traditional sunflower seeds.
Thanks in advance

I couldn't find you a pic of Mexican sunflower seeds, but here's a pic of a dried flowerhead http://farm1.static.flickr.com/182/405998865_85aae91bdb.jpg?v=0 They're in a different genus than regular sunflowers and the flowers themselves are much smaller so I wouldn't be at all surprised that the seeds don't look the same. If you can post a pic here of what your seeds look like maybe someone can confirm whether they could be Mex. sunflowers or not.

Mexican sunflower seeds are black and can be found if you spread the dried flower head. They usually fall out easily and are a bit coneshaped. If you don't see anything that looks like a seed and falls out easily it could be that the birds picked them clean.

It is recommended to leave the ripe fruit on the beautyberry seed and chill by leaving outdoors which allows the fruit to decompose naturally. Then, the clean seed can be sown in springtime.

Tithonia seeds are nothing like sunflower seeds. They are not related. Tithonia seeds are black cones with tan spikes. I plant the whole piece but only the black part is a seed.
