Food Allergy Diagnosis - Soy, eggs, and wheat HELP, please

Salem Cnty, NJ(Zone 7b)

Our 1 yr old granddaughter has just been diagnosed with these allergies.
Does anyone have any info about these allergies, or links to sites about them? I thought I would start my research on DG. Where better to go than 'family'? THANKS for your help.

Jan-
My 3 year old is allergic to eggs, soy, dairy, sesame, pistachios, strawberries, mango, blue food coloring, bounce dryer sheets....blah blah blah. The soy is the one that I find so difficult. Soybean oil is often tolerated if it is heat pressed. We don't have the wheat allergy. The good news is many allergies are outgrown by age 6.

I just bought two boxes of cookies from Enjoy Life. enjoylifefoods.com They are available at my grocery. The nice thing is that you will be able to teach her a way of life that is all she will know. My daughter will absolutely tell you she can not have something because she knows she will violently vomit & get bleeding sores. She knows other foods will make her not be able to breath. For little people they are very smart!

It may seem overwhelming to your family now, but it isn't so tough when you get used to it. There are tons of great recipes now. Cakes without eggs. Brown rice flour is readily available. Beware that different flours need adjustments of amounts in recipes. 1 cup doesn't equal 1 cup. Google is great!

My daughter has been taking Zyrtec since she was 18 months old. It helped clear her skin up nicely with no side effects. One suggestion if meds are recommended - split the dose in two. If they tell you to take 1 teaspoon daily of something, take 1/2 t twice a day. When the kids are so little they eliminate so quickly. The meds are better distributed that way.

She will be fine!

terichris, thank you for the practical advice. I am taking notes and checking different websites that are suggested. Note to self about meds.
Thank you for your reassurance.

This is a chocolate cake recipe with no egg. Use canola oil (it is pretty tasteless, vegetable oil is usually soy). You will need to use rice flour or another gluten free flour.

This cake really tastes like Duncan Hines. I freeze it in cupcakes so my daughter can take it to school when kids have birthdays.

We love chocolate or 'chlokit' as the kids say. LOL
