OH! OH! What a cutey!

CWBO Wren ready for lauch

Lodi, United States

NPGC carefully monitoring hatching parameters. Launch capsules stationary in 60 degree orientation. All go.

Admirable Ameraucana most diverting.

Oxford, NS(Zone 5b)

CPO Moxon dusting off uniform in a big hurry!!! Reporting for duty!!! Mother Bird, what are your orders?!

(trying to hide evidence of random feathers on trouser legs, brushing cupcake crumbs off hat)

No evidence of spelling incidents in the postings thus far, Ma'am. (Spelling police have decided that cutey and cutie are equally acceptable for baby bird terminology). All punctuation properly assigned except for missing apostrophe in Delaware's which is forgivable given the excitement surrounding launch. Excellent commencement.

(noticing smear of chicken poo on boot, and trying to hide it)

Lodi, United States

CPO Moxon. I believe smear is regulation for hatching uniform--showing dedication to duty. Smooth peanut butter with straw embedded may be substituted and is prefered by the canine corp.

Lodi, United States

"Prefered" remained for 68 seconds without comment. CPO Moxon--we are relying on you to remain vigilant. Do not disappoint again.

Oxford, NS(Zone 5b)

Thank you for the timely reminder Major Catscan. CPO Moxon was gravely face-pummelled by a turkey this very night, which we went to pick up for our errr...turkey day....and when I picked it up it had some other ideas about that whole business of being carried about by yours truly. I seem to have some rather vivid facial stripes as evidence of my efforts. Therefore, I had forgotten protocol.

(pulls chocolate cupcake out of pocket)

Oxford, NS(Zone 5b)

Aforementioned turkey incident causing distress.

Spelling police advise that prefered should be preferred, and corp should be corps.

Ma'am. Thank you.

Lodi, United States

CPO Moxon: Reports suggest Command was losing confidence in your observational abilities. The corp(s) was caught quickly and reinforces their firm opinion of you as the best officer for enforcing pettiness.

We at NPGC rather admire the captive Meleagris gallopavo for not going "gentle into that good night." Wear you stripes proudly, Officer Moxon; they were gained in noble combat.

Sugar Valley, GA(Zone 7b)

De Genrul is Lurkingly present and accounted for once again...Now esconced in new OH abode rather than MI abode...Retirement again on hold for the time being...Beginning to affect a *Grinch* attitude...

I am not even going to attempt to catch up with all of the doings here... just wanted to tell you all that I am here, and I missed all of you and the antics...I may have a place for Chickens in the spring, and I DO have a pen, and it can be added on to... Cyclone fence wire at that...Currently being used for the dogs until their yard is fenced...Just have to figure out a coop and nesting arrangement...I will work on that plan this winter....

~~~~~~~ to all and big Hugggs!!! Carry ON!!!
Oxford, NS(Zone 5b)
CPO Moxon assumes that you meant "Wear youR stripes proudly...."
CPO Moxon does not like being "tested" with errant spellings just for fun by NPGC, since this can have a negative impact on her spellworthiness and may result in an outbreak of hives due to stress.
The captive was subdued with cracked corn. The captive will be dispatched tomorrow by the co-commander of the house. CPO Moxon will not be present, since she had to drive home with said captive on her lap, patting it and calling it "turkey-lurkey" and thus becoming quite attached to it since it behaved very nicely once it was settled in her lap.
Sugar Valley, GA(Zone 7b)
Um Moxon.....Did you happen to catch the speeeler in the title of this thread???
Oxford, NS(Zone 5b)
The grinch attitude serves you well, General. It is most fitting with your flight boots and your attention to protocol. We are still honored to have you drop in to check up on us!
Most pleased to hear of your potential chicken plans in the works. We could have a coop raising (like a barn raising, but on a smaller scale) if you wish, Ma'am.
Lodi, CA(Zone 9b)
And I was gonna call Wren on the spelling!!!!!!!!! *red face here*
BTW.. Commander Catscan will be calling the shots.. I may just provide photo evidence to soothe the hatching beast in us..
Oxford, NS(Zone 5b)
OH GOODNESS gracious! Thank you General Dusty! Still recovering from said turkey battle, Ma'am. Unfortunately, titles cannot be edited. Mother Bird ZZ is so excited, we must forgive her for not being able to spell launch.
Lodi, CA(Zone 9b)
Excitement abounds.... and we still have two days to go! But Commander usually gets her babiez to pop out a day early.. so tomorrow?
Jacksonville, FL(Zone 8b)
CWBO Wren is know for poor spelling. Spelling so bad the spell check has ran away screaming down the street. If any one finds it please box it up and send it back I need it really bad. Also can't type very good either. And lets not talk about my grammar. To say the least My teacher could be hear mumbling in a corner, just before they took them away in straight jackets!!!!!
Oxford, NS(Zone 5b)
CWBO Wren is forgiven.
CPO Moxon is doubly excited because her first seed catalogue arrived today and she is just losing her mind about planning next year's garden. The first catalogue always makes CPO Moxon nearly pee herself with excitement.
Lodi, United States
Perhaps it is the general mental (not to mention bodily) dysfunction brought on by CPO Moxon's catalogue acquisition, that has caused her to fail to recognize in the word "lauch" the Scot's form of "laugh".
Yes, we here at the Lodi Outpost, are in for a riotous time come Thanksgiving day...and I am sure you can all see that this is what Commander ZZ was alluding to in her entirely appropriate title:0)
Oxford, NS(Zone 5b)
Ah, yes, now that I see it by light of day, you are so indeed correct, Co-Commander Catscan. I am relieved by your insightful wisdom! I admit that the catalogue kept me up part of the night with alluring photographs and descriptions of veggies I have now determined that I need. I also will be buying amaranth seed because I have learned it is a favorite of chickens. It's plant/seed porn, and I'm a self-confessed addict.
Commander ZZ - what is the hatching module status please?
Lodi, CA(Zone 9b)
Commander Catscan reports
Clarkson, KY
Oxford, NS(Zone 5b)
PIPERIFFIC!
CPO Moxon dances with wild abandonment!
(Tia) Norman, OK(Zone 7a)
Oxford, NS(Zone 5b)
Tapping fingers on desk, waiting for further news on pips....
{{glassy eyed look when glancing at seed catalogue}}
Poking finger in frosting on chocolate cupcake to make happy face design.
CBWO wren reporting in. Come on little life forms.
Interested in knowing what seed catalogue CPO Moxon is glassy eyed over
Lodi, CA(Zone 9b)
Was side tracked on another mission to house multiple roo chicks.. Flipping birds is not a fast process!
Have NN chicks in Lodi Base II
Left camera at Commander Catscan's
Took a NN chick to see my mom... (she was 95 last Monday) She giggled for so long I thought she was gonna faint! LOL Mommy loves chickens.. :) How powerful that tiny lil ball of fluff is.. to turn a rotten rainy day into pure joy and non stop giggles.
Okay.. back to the mission..
Ok i just lost track of the thread. sheesh. Dusty has a better excuse than i do. I just got lazy.
Pip pip hoooray congrats on the new pipping. Yeah oh joy. :)
OH what joy for your mom ZZs. :)
ok i m just lurking around , i don't have chickens and looks like it may be spring of 2010 :( this spring of 09 is a bust. But im full of joy for all who gets to have pipping . Pip and don't make haste .
Oxford, NS(Zone 5b)
CPO Moxon is glassy eyed over the Pinetree Seeds catalogue. Always one of the first to arrive. I find them to be generous with their seed, they have good prices, and a good selection. Not just seeds for pine trees! LOL!
Commander ZZ - Excellent work on developing Mommy giggles. Congratulations on your fine ability to bring laughter and love into the world!
COMMANDER CATSCAN!!! Your dereliction of your post has been noted.
Jacksonville, FL(Zone 8b)
CWBO wren I have that one and a couple of others. Well have about 20 before the year is out.
Clarkson, KY
Wait! Moxy got Pinetree Garden catalogue already?! NF!!
Jacksonville, FL(Zone 8b)
I'v had mine for over a week. na na na!!!!!
Clarkson, KY
Ooops. Maybe I won't get one this year -didn't use 'em last year for the first time in a while...uh-oooh...
Jacksonville, FL(Zone 8b)
I have not gotten any thing from them in a couple of years and I get one but my last name starts with a C so I am near the top of the list.
Clarkson, KY
Well, DH just finished turning and reworking our newer garden 'patch' today so I'm ready for some catalogues...I should probably count my blessings since I need to pay attention to the cooking until tomorrow anyway!!lol
Jacksonville, FL(Zone 8b)
I have a lot of seed and plant web sites!!!!!!!
Clarkson, KY
Hold that thought, Wren! I am SO in over my head for now -not that I don't want it ALL!!!
Jacksonville, FL(Zone 8b)
I love to drool. Thought I think I better stay off the epiphyllums web sites as I only own 200+ of them.
Sugar Valley, GA(Zone 7b)
HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO ALLLL OF YOU !!!!!
We are all truly blessed this year to be safe and warm, with Family (or seen them recently... LOL ) happy and for the most part, at our age .. healthy...
I pray for our Country and the turmoil it is in...and I pray for PEACE in this world...Many people have died today in old Bombay India because of terrorists...and they are still holding hostages, many of whom are foreign tourists...Maybe even some Americans...Pray for them tomorrow...
I lived 7 very long and agonizing years in a Warzone in Vietnam...I know the pain...I lost many of my Brothers there...all who passed through my field hospitals zones from one place to another...When you have seen what my eyes have seen you will have seen carnage beyond belief...
That is what is happening again in the MidEast...But there, you do not know your enemy...There are no lines of battle and a DMZ...He could be the man who sold you meat today at the market stalls and tomorrow he may be wearing a vest of explosives and detonate when you come to buy onions...It could be a child at a bus stop...
We had those in Nam too...Children who tried to get on our landing strips and Helo pads with grenades, offering trinkets or whatever to sell and then tossing them into our aircraft...I know...Believe me...I know...
Count your blessings, Hug whoever is close even if it is your cat, dog, chicken , goat , llama etc...and pray hard...
Oxford, NS(Zone 5b)
It takes a while for catalogues to get the wild backwoods of Iowa! LOL! I got it yesterday. The only other sort-of-seed-catalogue I got before that was the Maine Potato Catalogue and they have lots of seed potato varieties and I've been drooling over that for a few weeks now.
Still awaiting news of life encapsulation modules....how is the pipping procedure proceeding please? Any peeping?
CPO Moxon going to peel sweet potatoes and hope for pipping news.
