Wanted to share some pics of the BLRW's that I hatched this spring. I don't know if they are good examples or not, but they sure are purty...Scott

Very nice. I'm jealous : )

i just sold my BLRW roo! unfortunaly, he was too big for most of our hens!!!!
Oh gosh Don't apologize!! They are fantastic pics! Keep em comin! I love that Blue W... wow.. BLRWs are really pretty too.. in fact, I love em all too.. :) Gold laced makes me smile..
Great pics - What does BLRW stand for? Blue Laced R.... Wynadotte?
Yes - blue-laced red wyandotte. They are very friendly too. The eggs were $50/doz., but worth every penny. 5 hatched - 3hens, 2 roos. There are two colors, light and dark. Those pictured are the light ones. Most serious breeders won't breed the dark ones, but I'm not too serious - I just like chickens.
Absolutely gorgeous. Can that blue wy even see? That's some awesome comb and waddle action going on there! ;-)
Heres my only BLRW. She is a great hen and I think really pretty. I just located a rooster for her. She was a Free "rarest of the rare" chick. LOL Seriously though I went to a chicken swap I attend 3 times a year in Ohio and they wanted 50.00/pair. I hope to get more hens and try to get 50/pair! The people I am getting the rooster from has more roos, but will not sell any more hens.
George
we don't know what color that is either but awesome never saw it before!!! rusty is my fav he is gorgous, love the color on him!! none of my girls have gone broody yet.
hey i did find out seramas can be cold hardy to a point. mine r in unheated coops and have been down to 16 degrees and my little ones r doing wonderful!!! i always heard nothing under 40 they couldn't survive but they have been out all year and seam to have no probs at all to my surprise.
post away u know we all love looking at pics of ur birds!!
Wow, Scott--they've really grown up! And they look lovely. There are not many BLRW on offer right now. ZZ and I have been lusting over them:0). Where did you get yours?
Daylilydaddy, that chicken reminds me of Ginger in the movie "Chicken Run".
All of the pictures are absolutely adorable.
$50/doz wow Why are they so expensive?
LFJ
You just named my girl. Ginger it is!
George
Thanks ! That makes my day. )
I lied - oops! I looked up my receipt and they were $30/doz. from a seller on e-bay named "slim56mo". I believe they're Paul and Rhonda Caruso at R&R poultry. The $50 BLRW eggs were from Susan Oslo. The USPS must have x-rayed them as none hatched. She did offer to send replacements - however I chose not to take another chance on the USPS in that instance. She has some beautiful birds and if anyone could get eggs from her that would be my first choice...Scott
Were Susan's eggs offered on eBay too?
Would it be Taharkol? I'm dyin over the ones in that auction!
I don't believe that is her. I think it is sterlingsue or something close to that.
Ohhhhh you must sell me that lovely rooster he's such a darling!
Okay ZZ. Your mission, should you choose to take it, is to look for sterlingsue and her magnificent BLRW. We can have the BLRW hang out with our stunning Barnevelders and be the beautiful people (er chickens). Time to build the chicken spa and media rooms so they can entertain.
Cats!! !?! We will construct our own using the BBEBH system and they will lay Big Blue Eggs!! You've thrown me over for a hatchin' woman!! ZeeeeeZ!!
But grow, baby, you just keep me hanging on....I've got the F-------- and I've got the blue egg laying A-------. Where's the game plan? You just can't lead me on like this.....
But ya know I luv ya, baby. ZZ and I are just hatch mates;0)
Ohdear...(not hatchments, grow...muttermutter...won't lay blue eggs anyway...muttermutter...) It has been in your mailbox for 6 weeks....talk about leading on...muttermuttermutter...So ZeeZ's in right??
You aren't muttering about the old game plan are you, grow? Because I thought we agreed that was not detailed enough. Blue egg don't just fall from the sky....you can't just pluck them from blue egg trees....they don't just show in your stocking on Christmas morning--you need a ZZ to make it all happen. (But shhhhhhh. I haven't told her yet. Just waiting till she's so far in she can't get out).
Why, Hello ZZ! We were just talking about you! Have you met my good friend grownut? No, she always looks like that--but aside from the muttering and maniacal gleam, she is just plain folks.
Now there is a little plan we've been hatching....get it? Hatching? Ha, ha, ha.

Yes, provided, of course, that you have been diligently cataloging characteristics of all relevant breeds starting at hatch so we have many of the basic traits pegged from the get go......
Of course I have.....but it is good to see your right mind back. Get go, get go...so folksy, so normal. Yes, dear grow, we must get our get go going. I will start by listing the many admirable attributes of the season.
Chestnuts roasting on the open fire.
Jack Frost nipping at your nose.
Yuletide songs being sung by a choir
And folks dressed up like Eskimos.
Sing with me grow!
Everybody knows...
(Mox is feeling left out of the nefarious planning here)
Ah, Mox! Just in time....I have to run to Lowe's for a quick chick pick-up (need to scope panels to protect my angels from the rain.) Can you take over grow? I won't be gone long. Higgenbotham sends his love.
Some turkey and some mistletoe.....
You need to remember you are ALWAYS welcome in the nefarious planning!! Your current coursework, in fact....get go get go....mimimi!!!
Aaaa turkey and some mistletoe
Helps to make the season briiight
Tiny tots, hatched and fluffered just sooo....
And silkies, disguised as eskimos...
Sorry I disappeared there yesterday - we suddenly left to go pick up a llama from a horse shelter. A $50 llama. What a great bargain. He's beautiful too, and we named him Rosco.
I miss Higginbotham.
