Hello!! Great to meet you and see you have found Dave's Garden (DG)! I have been on since, shoot, I don't know, not very long (click on my user name and it'll tell you how long I've been a member) and I'll never leave. There is something for everyone here, and I found that I went from not knowing how to sew a button to making a Victorian Santa (I'm still in the process of) and not knowing how to put a plant in a pot to making my own flowerbed. I have met a lot of great people here and attend the Round Ups (RU's) in midsouth. When I found DG I found a goldmine.

I have a feeling you'll enjoy it as much as I have, and I hope to see you posting ^_^

Hello, glad to meet ya. DG is a great place to be a part of. There are tons of nice people and someone is always ready to "listen" to you.

I live in Oklahoma and it is just now beginning to get cold. I have lived in IL. When I was young, we lived in Decator and Hammond. Most of my memories are of snow. LOL My stepdad was from IL but we didn't stay long, we moved to Calif. then to Texas then Wyoming, back to OKla. I decided to move in with my dad and stop all the traveling. But I do remember all that snow.

Since your town says Winthrop Harbor can I assume you live on the shore of Lake Michigan? I would love to hear about the lake.

Welcome to DG

Hello from the Sacramento Valley of California. Still nice and sunny here, highs in the low 70s and enjoying the long fall weather.
I garden about an acre and a half of plants, pond, and trees. My hobby is stained glass and love riding w/my husband on either our Harley Classic or our Triked Gold Wing; we do alot of long distant riding; spending up to a month at a time on the bike.
Quit working as the Secretary at a FireDept when my husband retired as a Lineman. Was a stay at-home-mom; then went to work...quit after 10 yrs.; so short work life. Now pretty laid-back and loving the grandkids!
Welcome to the Garden!

I miss the long falls and not so stormy weather of the Valley. If I could live here and there it would be perfect!! All of my friends are there, have made some here but none real close where we could go shopping together, or do whatever girls decide to do!

Hi from MN.
I'm glad you found us. I've been around here forever. 99½% of the people on here are great! I haven't met the other ½% yet.

DW & I traveled to KY Round Up in September. A DG'er from your area that I met at Iowa Round Up in May, invited us to spend the night at her house as it was to far to drive in one day. She lives just west of Winthrop Harbor.
Another Daves member in Kentucky invited us for a night at their house. We had only met online before that afternoon, but it seemed like we were old friends!
That's the kind of people on this site.

Have a Great Time here.
Bernie
