I live in Aliso Viejo in South Orange County with my husband and 3 year son. While I love growing roses and other flowering plants on my limited patio space, I'm trying to gear my plant selections towards interesting edibles for my son. Strawberries and blueberries were a hit this past spring, he's not so thrilled about the herbs or peppers. Right now we are forcing hyacinths & amaryllis hopefully in time for the holidays.
Here's a picture of my little guy helping me rearrange the plants out when he was 1.5 yrs old:
Hi from a newbie!
Hi Wendy,
Glad you came on over here and introduced yourself. That little guy is sure a cutie and looks like he's momma's little helper for sure.
Welcome to the CA forum,
Donna
Welcome! Looks like you've got a little gardener in the making there!
Hi Wendy, welcome. What a sweetie you have there. Thanks for sharing.
Hi Wendy! Welcome to DG. Please check the 'Mini Roundup' thread on this forum. We would love to see you in March.
HI ! Your little guy is adorable.... your picture reminded me of one of my daughters helping me plant bulbs one year - she gave positive reinforcement to each and every bulb before she dropped it in the hole "you are going to be soooo beautiful, sleep tight" ha ha ha, so fun - but she's not much of a weeder, too bad.
Happy Birthday Wendy. I hope this day brings lots of sunshine and joy to your life.

Hi Wendy,
My little grand daughters love to pick and eat the cherry tomatoes and strawberries. My impressed you grew blueberries. I can't seem to get them to fruit, or stay alive for that matter.
Your little guy is adorable.
Linda
Happy Birthday to you!
Oh boy, another birthday to celebrate! Happy Birthday!!!!
Wendy:
Welcome to DG, it's a great place. I'm a newbie too. You'll have a blast. Please do come to mini round up in March!
Happy Birthday!

Thank you for the warm welcome and birthday greetings! I'll have to check out the mini round up info.
We celebrated by going out for dinner and my son looked at the waiter with those sweet big concerned eyes and asked the waiter, "Do you have cake here? My Mom is three today!"
Redtootsiepop - That's so cute that you daughter tucked the bulbs to bed with good wishes!
LindaCA - I repotted the blueberry plants in Azalea mix with a handful of worm castings. My little one was so excited about them that the some of the poor fruit barely had a chance to turn blue before being gobbled up! I want to do cherry tomatoes this spring, just not looking forward to the cutworms.
Happy Belated Birthday! And welcome. You really must go to the mini round-up so we can meet you. Cute little guy you have there.
