Okay Now Help With This One Please

I know the morning glory seeds are where the flower were right? When are they ready to pick? Anyone have a pic of the seed pods on them?

I'll have to check some of mine. Did you check the plant database to see if someone posted them with Ipomea?

The pod will be nice and round. It will turn brown and fall apart when you touch it, revealing somewhere around 10 black seeds within.

Just poke around and you'll find the pods. :)

It is stil kinda early here to begin the hunt for seeds. You will hav eto look underneath..argh..when the skeeters hang out..to find the first pods. I have found a few. I decided to wait for a few more weeks..they will be loaded and you wont be able to miss them!

Wait until the pods are brown and crispy. I hold a container under the pod and crunch it between my fingers ... the seeds fall right into the container. If they aren't ripe - they won't crunch. I took a picture of what the seed pods look like and put it in the plant database http://davesgarden.com/plants/go/751.html

Thanks all for the info.

The seeds pods aren't always round and the number of seeds can differ. I posted a picture on the photo forum, but it isn't a great one. That pod is from 'Clarke's Heavenly Blue'. I normally get four large seeds per pod. I have noticed more oblong pods on the named varieties and round on the mixes, but maybe it is something in my soil. LOL

One of my plants isn't setting seeds - I'm starting a new thread (thanks, HoniBee!) ... but I successfully collected a few seeds from my little first-year MGs. Yippee!!!
