has any one saved maypop seeds and if so how do you get the membrain from around the seed. the only way i have done it so far is to take a finger nail and scrape it off, which you can see would take a while. help tired fingers.

Though you've already found the answer, I just happened to harvest
Passiflora seeds today.

I pop the fruits into a wire screen or collander with tiny holes. Rinse them
off, then turn the collander upside down on top of a wet washcloth or towel.
Then wad the washcloth up, squish the seeds, squeeze the washcloth.
Squish, squash and squeeze.

Then hold the washcloth over the collander again and allow running water
to wash them back into the collander off the cloth. Then do it all over again.
Pretty soon you will have burst all the juice capsules.

Spread them out on a flat surface and allow them to dry. The kitchen countertop
(Formica) works great, because you can scrape them right off the countertop
when they dry. Then just shuff them in your hands to get the dry flaky stuff off,
and store them in the refrigerator.

At least that is how I do it.
