Gita, Is that bloom from the fishbone cactus? it is gorgeous and I have a fishbone that I have never seen bloom. Will mine look like yours ? Linda

Linda,

It is a bloom from my Ric Rac Cactus......I do not think that mine is a "Fishbone cactus" because of how the leaves are oriented. Basically--I have NO clue.....but mine is definitely (now) a "Selencierious Anthonyanus" cactus.
Please ask the "experts" on this Forum for any further information.....I am NOT one of them!

I'm not one either. I may have 200+epies. but I am far from a "expert" Like the rest of y'all I know what works here for me. My conditions here are different from yours Gita or Linda for that matter the growing conditions in my front yard are different from my back yard. LOL Can be as much a 10 degrees different .

It is a beautiful flower and a well grown plant no matter what its name is today or tomorrow. Beside my poor mistreated head has to much trouble remembering my own name much less what the right name of all my epi's.

I have a cutting of a "ric rac" that has different shapes on the new growth. I will try to take a picture of it today, before I get the extra plastic up.

Names were never really important to me until I started trading anyway. I believe mine was the cryptocereus anthonyanus, which I think is the same as the selenicereus anthonyanus. Anyway, I can't wait to see it bloom and I just hope it is as pretty as yours. Linda

I can't remember what plantladylin said the one she sent me was but the growth looks like yours.

I try hard to keep the ladels on my epis (Just don't ask my to pronouns some of them) but the darn squirrels have lost some of my labels.
