Hello,
After growing a combo of MG's and gladiolas for two years I am happy to report it works like a charm! I didn't want to stake my glads so I grew them along with my MG's. Other than the occasional unwrapping of a bloom trying to open I have had no other problems. Add to it that my Glads have survived two years without pulling them up or adding new bulbs and Id' say they are the perfect duo. Not only to they keep the glads upright regardless of wind but they compliment each other wonderfully! After the MG's close for the day the glads keep the beauty going.
If you like glads, give it a try and maybe tell us how yours did!
Perfect Duo!
I'd love to see a photo or two! By any chance did you take any photos of this duo of plants?
Mishka I did the same thing this year, had my glads in a pot next to my glories in thebarrell and between the pole and the glads everything worked well.. I also did glorys with cannas and that was excellant!
I would love to see some photos of these duos! (Hint, hint!)

Thanks for sharing (!)

Ron
Joeswife...as you can see in the picture I did have cannas next to my little duo but didn't think to mix them together, do you have a picture?
Ron, thank you! I didn't get to show you some pictures when all was in bloom. Plus, although the colors were perfect together the first year the glads were mixed colors but they all turned that lovely salmon color by the end of the following season, weird but I know it happens!
I'll be sure to take better shots next season. Isn't that sad, it's only November and I'm already wishing for next growing season!
LOL, thanks Ron (Star of Yelta), I didn't know what I had! I'm a new gardener and you can see all my gardens are young. We just put up a post and rail fence so I have loads more gardening to do next year. I just love the way flowers look against a rustic fence line! I'm thinking of adding some MG's to the fence too :)
