coreopsis verticillta

Büllingen, Belgium(Zone 6b)

How does the seed of coreopsis verticillta look like?

This may help. Not the species, but it is probably similar! http://theseedsite.co.uk/db6a.html

Büllingen, Belgium(Zone 6b)

Thanks, but I've seen that. But there is nothing in it like that. The only 'strange' things I see, are formed like a very tiny
'o' or 'c'

According to Ohio State University (see: http://www.hcs.ohio-state.edu/hcs/TMI/Plantlist/co_llata.html), Coreopsis verticillata has "small fruiting heads, borne at the center of each flower, have many small seeds (supposedly resembling ticks, hence the common name)".

Ergo, those 'o' or 'c' things you are seeing are most likely the seeds.

Thanks, I'm going to save the c's and o's.
In my search I found another seed-determination site, do you know this one:
http://seedsofsuccess.smugmug.com/gallery/4721458_xVUV8#279519444_jeTEn

I didn't know it, but I will now spend some time with it.
I did not find any coreopsis on it, however.
If you enf up with extra seeds and want to send a few my way, I'f be happy to have them. I could offer a few things in trade.

Büllingen, Belgium(Zone 6b)

I know there is no coreopsis on that site, but I found a few seeds that are not on the Seedsite. Since I never saw this link on DG I thought it might be usefull on this thread. I will post it.
For sure I will have seeds of the coreopsis verticillata for trade. The species I have is 'Sunbeam'. It's flowering for a quite long time.
And have a look at my have list, maybe we can trade more.
I'm interested in perennials hardy in my zone, vegetables, herbs or unusual annuals.

Coreopsis "Early Sunrise" has round-ish seeds.... nothing like the "Plains" Coreopsis.

The problem here is that you only have 1 thing on your "Want List", and I don't have it!

Our "Zones" are close. I'm not heavily into flowers, but I have lots of vegetables & herbs/
What are you interested in?

Büllingen, Belgium(Zone 6b)

I do not understand this. Is 'Sunbeam' the same as 'Early sunrise'? And do I have to look at the seeds again?
English is not my motherlanguage, so I do not understand all.

Büllingen, Belgium(Zone 6b)

Well, this only thing on my have list does not mean I am not interested in anything else. It's just that there are so many plants I do not know yet. And this only thing I want really, but until now I had no succes. Please let me know which vegetables and herbs you have.

Here's an image of everything that came out of the seed head.... the seeds are sort of obvious.

sorry it took so long... i couldnt get an image that was infocus....

I'll also put in PlantFiles

Is the seed on your picture from Coreopsis grandiflora or from Coreopsis verticillata?
What came out of my seedheads looks completely different. I tried to take a picture, but until now I did not succeed to get a sharp one.

Leesburg, FL(Zone 9b)

Mine are grandiflora Early Sunrise.

the way you described yours... i was thinking they would be similar.

and i had to take about 20 photos, all with varying settings to get 2 that were not out of focus.

Büllingen, Belgium(Zone 6b)

I think they are not similar. I will try to take pictures again tomorrow by daylight. I only took 10 today. Gave up too soon I suppose :).

I finally succeeded to make a picture.
