HEARTBROKEN, BUT LOOKING FOR A LOVING HOME FOR WOODY

Ferndale, AR(Zone 7b)

My heart is breaking and I'm in tears as I create this post .... but we have to find a home for Woody.

Woody was a stray when we took him in this past spring. He was and still is one of the most loving, affectionate dogs I've ever met. The bottom line is, he was accustomed to running the woods and creeks and needs a home where he can do that safely.

I don't have the energy to go into all the details of what we've tried these past 6 months, but we've done everything we can to keep him fenced, he is on seperation anxiety medication, and we are working on a behavior modification program. It's not enough. He loves the woods and creeks and will find a way to get out and run to his heart's desire. He always comes back but we are only 1 mile from a paved road and he crosses the road. He also visits neighbors - some love him and don't mind his visiting but others aren't as welcoming. He will eventually be hit by a car/truck or be shot by someone tired of him showing up on their property.

He needs a home located far in the country with little traffic and miles (literally) of property for him to romp on. It is nothing for him to go 2 miles away. Our fenced 1/2 acre back yard isn't nearly enough for him.

Please help me find him a home with acres and acres of property, and preferably other dogs and humans to interact with. He is very social. His exact age is unknown but we believe he is about 1 1/2 yrs old. He appears to be a chocolate lab mix. He has sight hound tendencies and may have some type of bird dog mixed in. He has been neutered, up to date on all of his vacines, and in excellent health. I'll be happy to provide more information to any serious inquirers.
