I got a 90%! One of the highest grades in the class! I only got five wrong and they were all tricky. Had I left my original answers, I would have had 100%. But I'm just thrilled that I passed the test. I am now officially an intern in the master gardener program! Starting in March, I volunteer at different projects around Maryland and by this time next year I will be a certified Master Gardener!
I am so thrilled! I was SO nervous! Fortunately, the test was open book (we were the first class to have open book) but the questions were not easy.
I am so happy that I have made it over the first hurdle to becoming a master gardener!
I PASSED MY MASTER GARDENER EXAM!!!!!
HipHip Hoorah...how wonderful..great achievement..my goodness look at those grades...you've excelled...
Congrats from Canada...
Thanks, Betty!!!!
Congratulations- by doing so well on an open-book test you just proved what I always tell those who ask me how a Master Gardener knows all about gardening. I tell them "We don't know all the answers- but we know where to look them up!!" It usually makes them laugh and it's pretty darn close to the truth! It also makes the idea of becoming a Master Gardener less intimidating.
The Land Grant colleges (like Ohio State University for me) usually have great websites and a ton of research based information available on about any home gardening subject. Since the mission of the Master Gardeners is to educate the public on home gardening those websites are a goldmine.
Enjoy your new position and spread your love of gardening! Good Luck, MWhit
Congratulations!!
wooo hoooo congratulations....
simply awesome!

Kudos!
Yaayy!! How Exciting, Congratulations!!
Awsom Grade.
Thanks, guys! Your kind words mean a lot. MWhit.....you are so right. When I used to talk to master gardeners I used to think, gosh I could never be one, I don't know enough. They would say to me the same thing you said, but I thought they had to be pulling my leg. We should change the name to master resourceful gardener, because you are right, there are so many web sites and books out their to help, anyone dedicated and resourceful enough can find almost any answer they need to any question they have.
I am looking forward to the projects starting in March and really getting first hand experience.
Thanks again for the kind words.
My goodness, that's a wonderful accomplishment! Congrats!
Deborah
Yay!!! Congratulations Noobie!! Not so Noobie anymore!! Woo Hoo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We want you to use this thread to show project pictures!!!!!
Now I'll be asking you for advice! Congratulations!!
WOO HOO..way to go. That's a lot of work, my garden hat is off to you. :)
thanks, guys! I will take pictures of the different projects that I work on....but that doesn't start for a few months. I can't wait to get started!
Yeah! Now you aren't a "noobie", right? Congratulations.
i am still a noobie...I may know a little about veggies, but I know nothing about flowers and trees. I was in class with people that knew the common and latin names for trees and flowers....I don't know any of that yet.
But I think that's why I love gardening so much....there is always so much to learn!
Way to go there noobie. That is fantastic news. Wish we had a place close by here to take the course.
Congrats!
Yeah!!! Great job! We need more people with your knowledge in this world! Raising a glass in your direction!!! Cheers!
thanks, Robyn and Newhobby! I still have a ways to go and lots to learn, but the journey has begun!
