Oooohhh, MAJOR zone-envy.
Beautiful veggies. Which of your systems produced these?

Boca Raton, FL(Zone 10a)

what variety cukes are those, sorry if someones already asked and I issed it.

Boca Raton, FL(Zone 10a)

Hi gardenglory, the long one is called Manar and the short ones are Corona. They are greenhouse seedless cukes from Holland. All female and no pollination needed at all. About $1.00 a seed but well worth it.

Ok, I'm about to join this party!!! Here are my EB greens all lined up in a row on my scaffolding. Left to right in the five boxes are: Collards, Mustards, Collards, Mustards and Lettuce.

And, closeups. Smile pretty! Mr. & Mrs. Lettuce. Um, I need ya'll to tell me when to start picking these crops. I can see they grow from the center, so can I start picking some of the outter leaves on the lettuce? The collards and mustards haven't made a double layer just yet, so I think I'll need to wait awhile. LMK soon, cause these lettuce leaves in my salad would work wonders for my Weight Watchers' program!

P.S. We're getting a cold snap in the next two nights and the greens should love it. Between 34-37 degrees Sunday and Monday nights.

Ok, I received my seeds from Johnny's (finally!) I have more carrots, some purple top turnips, and the all-important BEETS! Here's the EMPTY Trellis bed with the rich decomp leaves , Black cow composted? manure, and coffee grinds. Could someone please educate me on sowing the seeds, please? Do I just dig some shallow straight-line trenches and sprinkle the seeds in? How many lines would you recommend from front to back of this trellis? Thanks, ya'll!

Gymgirl: Oh those are just beautiful. I'm too scared to try greens, don't you have to be a good gardener for those? I still got a long way to go before I can do that.

Gymgirl -- Aren't there instructions on the package pertaining to planting space? One thing about Johnny's they do take their time shipping but they do have great products.

Thought that I would start to show my results and am very pleased so far. These are the Oregon State University plants that I refer to OSU. Thy are doing very well and I anxiously await for the first crop.

Man, those are beautiful plants, Tplant! Did you acquire these as seeds from OSU, or as plants, and how did you get them?
I'm just dreaming about next summer. Not jealous or anything. Oh no. (Sob)

Holy tomatoes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. Is the watering system making a diference? Can you show anything growing right now in coco coir? or the 5 gallon grow bag or the layflat bag?

BocaBob

Pembroke Pines, FL(Zone 10a)

Two Black Cherry. A great improvement from my last batch whereas I could not even get the seed to germinate and those that did were very weak plants.

Bob -- The coir bags are still very young although doing very well are small but I have not yet planted my additional OSU and Chapman seedlings as of yet as it will be another couple of weeks before I can show anything in the coir except for my Bush Beans which should be on the vegetable thread but this is the self contained thread and is not specific to any one type of veggie so I will.

Pembroke Pines, FL(Zone 10a)

Bocabob -- On the left side of this shot, not clearly shown and really not in view, is the young garden that was started only two weeks ago so as anxious as you are to note the results (LOL) I can not rush nature! I have two empty EBs filled with coir for the OSU and Chapman plus two twenty gallon containers for the two Don Juan roses, also to be filled with coir, that I bought yesterday that I hope to plant today along with your irrigation system. They will be planted by my deck upfront where I sit in the morning and have my coffee. This is the area that I will be working today and setting the irrigation for my seven additional roses. Should save me a lot of work except for fertilizing.

Here you can see the waiting area down at the end and that is where all will be planted when ready.

TPlant: Looks to me you got a veggie forest there going on. LOL What is in the terra cotta planters? The ones that look like regular planters? Just out of curiosity.

Big difference from 11/1. I was concerned as they were late getting out and were not up to my usual quality but they did recover rather quickly and I know that BocaBob's watering system had a lot to do with it as the weather was abnormally hot for the past two weeks.
