Happy birthday Kathy! Hope you have a wonderful day! Eleanor
Happy Birthday boojum!
Happy Birthday--& hope that the 4 legged one is recovering from the eye operation. Are you coming to the Nov.8 ISM meeting? Same place where you gave your talk.
Oh, Happy, Happy Day!!!
Enjoy it immensely!!!
Have a great one!!!
Well so did I!! I mean all of your wonderful special messages to me!! What a great day-after-my-birthday gift. Thanks Eleanor for cluing me in. Love you all!!! ^_^
Boojum, so glad it was a good day for you. We celebrated your birthday by having our anniversary too! 30th. We spent it together in the garden whacking away more of the remains of summer's glory. Today is damp and gloomy. We need another two good days to get most of the rest done, but my body is too sore today for working out side again today, so I will enjoy the day off by moving books. Trying to organize our rather large collection back into some form of order. It is the old book seller in me that wants everything arranged by sections. I should have waited until the dead of winter. Not smart. Now I have piles of books everywhere as well as piles of bulbs awaiting to be planted when the ground gets a tad cooler. Patti
Happy Anniversary, Patti!
Thank you Victor, I didn't mean to hijack Boojum B-day post, but when I met her a few years ago, I found out we shared this special date, so I woke up yesterday thinking about our mutual celebratory day. Now if I could just grow a garden like hers, I would feel that we had something very special in common. I keep trying. Patti
Patti, gosh I think your garden is certainly equal to mine and your bulb collection surpasses mine! BTW I love to share this thread with your anniversaire.
Boojum, and all, here are 500 pictures taken between June and Oct of the garden. So take a look if you are really bored and missing the bright blooms of summer. Now Ms. B, you must come see for yourself! Patti

Patti Love that slide show!
Patti, those pics are just gorgeous!
Beautiful, Patti. What's the 473rd one?? Hee hee. I think you need more bulbs...
Victor, Never fear, I have a whole room filled with bulbs ready to plant next week! Lots of new lilies and of course tons of narcissus and tulips and many of my beloved minor bulbs. I am worried about the new squirrels in the neighborhood. I may have to get a trap and move them out to a friends house who has no bulbs except narcissus. She is a summer resident who does not garden, ever. She has masses of Rosa rugosa and climbing roses that cover her house, huge privet and very manicured lawn around the house that she has a crew take care of for her. But she has this great natural pond and lots of trees in a wild uncultivated area next to her house that she never goes into. It is a true hidden forest, so I think the squirrels would love it there if I could trap them. But don't tell, as I think it is illegal to move them along. Patti
Patti: Awesome show of pictures, indeed! Quite the tour!
Have you ever dipped your bulbs in Ropel Bulb Protect•R, or the like, before you planted them? I never have, but then again, I have very few, but I know others who swear by it.
I knew you had more bulb plans. I have had success with spreading minced garlic around where I plant bulbs.
Your slide show was wonderful Patti, thank you for sharing!!
Great slide show. I want those peach hollyhocks!
That JI is a beauty, pirl. Thanks for your wishes!!!!!
Happy belated Birthday, Kathy! Didn't see this thread yesterday. Victor and Pirl, I love your iris pics you posted.

Edited to add that this daylily is Aabachee, one of the ones I was trading at the RU at Candyce's. I hope you got some! I don't remember what you got that I brought.

Patti, your slideshow is awesome and your garden is wonderful. I'm amazed that you keep up with all that, it's definitely worth it.
Thanks all for the compliments. And for our birthday gal, Boojum, I just happen to have saved some of those peach HH seeds this fall. I think I recall Pixie wanted some, so I saved some for her and thought others might want some too. I will send them out later in the winter. Any other takers? This peach one has bloomed reliable for years for me. They are very tall and robust. 10 feet. . I bought it at Surry Gardens in Maine in 2002 and it was marked "Alcea ficifolia peach Fig-Leaved Hollyhock. This Hollyhock is considered a perennial & will act like one if cut back after blooming." And so it has been for me. July 9th pix. So blooms are a bit later than my other HH.
Love that spider DL, Aabachee. I just got a bunch of new ones on a DL coop. I have decided that they are my favorite form. Well, for this week. So Fickle. Planting them today if it clears up.
If you want to see my spring bulb blast, here is the site. March 23 - May 30th. I will be busy this winter
labeling the pictures. Patti
