rustyswoman - I have the same problem with streps. I've gotten them from different people here on DG, and I can keep them alive, but barely. I was talking with a lady at a local nursery, and she says she has the same problem with bought (or traded!) ones. She says it may have something to do with them being used to other conditions, etc. She says she has great luck with any she grows from a leaf cutting, because if they don't like the growing conditions they won't grow! I've got some leaves stuck that are beginning to pop up with babies, and I got a bunch of leaves from someone else, and I will be sticking those this weekend.

Hi ladies,I have trouble with thelittle streps too,but learned if I put them in a gallon plastic bag or dome them for a few weeks they become used to my house.The ones on ebay are just to small not worth paying the money to have them die.Those sellers need to learn from Gail what size to sell.LOL.
I wouldn't have the nerve to send out what they are selling. Although I have found a great seller who sends babies but they always have two crowns and they take off in a hurry. Her name of ebay is Vmeenee...................I have had great luck with her. The first batch of streps I ordered from Kathy's Streps were soooooooooo small, they stayed in a dome for a month at least. But the other day when I won Dilute leaves from her, I ordered one strep and it was a nice size .
Ohhh, dome them huh? Maybe that is part of my problem. It is very dry here even though I have tons of AV's in the room and probably the most moist room in the house. And yes they wer small. Sent in a itsy bitsy plastic dixie cup

rustywomen, the picture i posted is the strep i will send you.not a leaf, the whole plant.this is not a real big strep as so many grow so big, but it's not a baby either send me a dmail with your add.it seems if i get really small streps, usually off ebay, i put them on my cappalary mats & they seem to do well.otherwise they usually need extra humidity.I hate dealing with the real small ones, they usually wind up dieing.
