CLOSED: could someone please help me id this insect?

found in sedona arizona, floating down a cold stream. it's about 2.5 inches long. someone told me that it was a locust, but i determined that it was not, since locusts are grasshopper family.

Some people call them locusts, but it's a Cicada (family Cicadidae), maybe Tibicens resh.
