This is not a beetle, but a leaf-footed bug (Hemiptera/Heteroptera: Coreidae); possibly a western conifer seedbug (Leptoglossus occidentalis), a species that often comes indoors during autumn - see http://www.ento.psu.edu/extension/factsheets/western_conifer_seed_bug.htm
