I also need to trim my "Seiryu Japanese Maple" It is also 6 yrs old. When should it be trimed?
Triming Japanese Maple, when?
Major pruning should be done during the dormant season after the leaves are off but before the sap starts to rise in the spring, usually late November to early January. You can nip back an errant shoot during the summer. Don't prune when the sap is rising and the tree is leafing out.
Boy snapple you are the expert on just about everything, from ponds to trees. Thanks a lot. Katherine
No, I'm not. Really. But thanks for the compliment.
