With dog shows it was the PITA people they would come on the show site and either poison the dogs with ante freeze, let them out or steal them They are not humane people , . Dog show dogs enjoy showing. If they did not they would not show in the ring. My breed did not have a lot of politics most of the Belgian Tervurens where shown by the owners and most in this area where at that time related . Once some one told the breeder of mine that she was sorry that the dog that she was showing did not win and the breeder said yes she did win as the 1st, 2nd dogs where breed by her.

The Ins and Outs of Poultry Showing!
OMG I can't imagine resorting poisoning!
Good grief!
Yes. If they came on the show site everyone would run to protect their dogs.
Oh don't get me started on PETA!
They're definately not animal lovers
rather a fund raising organization with a definate political agenda.
PETA would? That is odd.
Google slaughterville Oklahoma and look up the PETA with that. Ignorant I say Ignorant.

Yes they kill more pets at their shelter than the let people know. Here once the group get hold of a litter of Belgian mals, which is the short hair cousin to my Bel Terv. It is not a breed for family life they are working dogs that have to have a job and they are used as K-9s. We are talking about a 55 pound, very active, very intellect breed. They can do a lot of damage with their bite.
The local people who know about the need of this breed tried to help but no the PETA people wonted no help and sold them to people who had no idea what they where getting into. Lucky some of the people did come to us for help.
LOL at the Slaughterville fiasco what what the fine folks of Slaughterville did in response to PETA's crazy request.
Man those people are nut cases!

To make a long story short on Slaughterville, this town was named around the land rush after a man named Slaughter. This town is a blink and you will miss it, does not even have a stop light. Anyway there was a bar and grill there ( I use to work there) and we served the best char burgers and fries for miles. Well PETA came into the situation and wanted to name the town and bar VEGGIEVILLE. Said our name was inhumane. The man that owned the bar passed away and his daughter and son in law ran it to the ground and now it is no longer there. What a shame, the best burgers you would ever get.
Disclaimer: I by no means am against vegans. I prefer veggies over meat but I do like to eat meat also.
yea CR we did it up.
A correction I mean ante freeze--- not freon. A horrible way to die.
I am very much against cruelty to children and animals, but those people are nuts.
I heard one of the PETA people on Public Radio explain that dogs and other domestic animals were an example of mankinds perversion of nature and their goal is to get rid of all domesticated animals. I was shocked. It's like they've never heard of symbiotic relationships or considered that we may have been as shaped by the animals as they were by us.
But I am for the ethical treatment of animals--we are voting on humane regulations for farm animals (meaning feed lot cattle, veal calves and battery hens) in Californis this year.
I'm a meat eater but I don't like to see cruety to animals either but PETA goes too far and uses radical and anarchist tactics which I find cruel and law breaking.
They're nut cases. They have no right to go around telling other people what they should eat and wear....or what animals they shouldn't raise.
I wish they would do away with farm factories but I don't know if that could ever be accomplished.
You never see cows or steers on pasture anymore...all in manurey feed lots.
I only buy organic milk from pastured cows and boy, big difference in favor! I try to buy as much locally grown and organic as I can....plus raise my own.

I bet i should find someone around here that sells fresh milk, with TF and her 3 boys and my grandson, they go thru a gallon in a few days.
I wish I could find fresh goats milk. And I miss the fresh milk we use to get for my cousin when he raise milk cows for 4-h. Noting like fresh made butter, cream and milk fresh from the cow. I never had problems with milk when we could get the farm fresh milk.
Around here and this was 2 yrs ago, a quart of fresh goats milk was going for 6 bucks. Maybe I can try to find a goat or two oh gosh I dont want to but maybe TF can milk them. We will see I will talk to her about it today.
