I just cut down 2 Mountain Magic brugs. I was amazed at the color here (it's a little cool for the south), very intense pink. You could even call it a dark pink.
I have some that were cut from above the Y and some that were cut below the Y.
First come, first serve.
CLOSED: Mountain Magic cuttings for postage
Woodspirit.. I would love a cutting or 2 of this...Let me know what I need to do...
Dusty
I will need $3. Do you want them cut from above the Y or below the Y
Well since I am a relative newbie to Brugs, I will leave the cutting to you...
If you will Dmail the address, I will get the money sent off right away...
and thank you sooooo much...I have been studying these forever, so I hope I can do the job on getting them rooted and ready for spring..
Dusty
The difference is that if you get a cutting from above the Y (the first time the plant divides into 2 branches) it will be shorter, more of a shrub but will bloom a bit earlier. Cuttings from below the Y will grow to small tree size, will take a little longer to bloom. So it depends on what you like or the space you have.
Brug growers generally use lots of different fertilizers, especially organic, but also use Bayer's 2-in-1 fertilizer which has a systemic insecticide and keeps most bugs of. They like lots of water, too, but not a boggy situation.
My address is in the address exchange; use the tab called "extras."
Be SURE to include your Dave's Garden name or I won't know who you are.
Pop them in some clean water and they should root fairly quickly. Keep the water clean, though.
Thank you ... I will have lots of room so either way is fine with me...
I would love a cutting or two above the Y please... dmail me where to send money , and how much form sure.
Any left? I would love to have a cutting:-)
Bev
If i'm in time i'd also love a cutting or 2 LMK
Thanks
Phyllis

I'd love to have a few cuttings if you still have any available.I had a cutting that didn't survive and would love to try again. It makes no difference if above the y to me.
Thanks for your consideration!
Colleen/darmadoll
Hello!!! I would love cuttings of your Mountain Magic (1-2 above Y, 1-2 below Y...). Do you take PayPal or send a check?
Thank You!!! Jan
I would love a cutting either above or below. Doesn't matter to me. Thanks! Karen
If you're still offering this cutting I'd love to send postage to receive it.

Just a suggestion for those receiving cuttings. Last year, I had to cut a branch from my Mountain Magic. I placed the 6 cuttings in a glass of water with a bit of hydrogen peroxide added to the water. All 6 cuttings produced nubs. At that point, I potted these 6 along with about 20 other cuttings I had purchased in 3-1/2" X 3-1/2" X 5" pots and placed the flats in my greenhouse to overwinter. My other cuttings rooted and are in 1 - 2 gallon pots now (Very hot summer resulted in very little growth this year even with tons of fertilizer.). All my MM cuttings rotted. I believe they needed drier conditions than the other cuttings. They might have needed warmer conditions. My DH wouldn't let me raise the thermostat higher than 45ºF.
I suggest when you pot the cuttings, keep the soil barely damp. You're getting a very special Brug. Here's a photo of one of the last bloom of the season on my little MM last year.
Thank you for the info bettydee maybe that is why mine didn't make it! :0(
If I'm one of the lucky ones I will definitely follow your advice!

Very interesting and informative Bettydee. I'm always thankful for any education that helps me with my garden.

I would like a cutting also and above the y if at all possible. I just hope I am not too late. Let me know and I will send the money right away!
Carol
I too would love a cutting or 2 of MM, below the Y if possible. I had a small one last year, but lost it to the drought and those dreaded spider mites. Please let me know and I'll get postage off to you.
Thanks!
Jean
I would love a cutting or 2 far below the Y. I have no luck rooting brugs. I am told I love them to death because of watering and out humidity. I had big success once when I was sent really thick cuttings I would guess the last cuttings taken. My noid white gave me 1 bloom the other day. I guess Ike or something caused to have no more buds. It is cooler so it will start and bloom every 3-4 weeks, Only one I have big enough to bloom. The rest I have are just a few NOIDS too. I was giving up but I will be bored this winter and I will try this yr and i I fail then I am done. Will get someone to root or buy them. Or maybe try seeds.
TY if you have any left and if you don't God Bless you for sharing.
if you possibly have any left, I would love to have a cutting of your brug. Please send me a dmail and I will send the postage right away. Thanks, Linda
Woodspirit, please take me off the list and give to someone else instead. I just discovered I was given a cutting of Mountain Magic by Kenboy and Maggi last weekend and didn't remember. Thank you, Karen
If you have any left I would like 2 or 3 above Y . Generally I get 1 out of 3 to root . Do you use Paypal ? easiest for me .
I soak mine in 3 % H202 [1/2 cup in gallon of water ] and 1 capful of supertrive , when white bumps appear into Supersoil and water with 1 325 grain aspirin crushed in a gallon of water .
Dmail me paypal info or your address if any left .
Hello Woodspirit,
I would be interested in a MM cutting, preferably above the Y. Please let me know how I can send you the money for it.
Juan
wow! Let me see how many I can fill before anyone else asks.
OK, here's the tally. I have 12 cuttings left and will send ONE to Dusty, Mitch, tggfisk, lilsissta, darmadoll, JanLynn, darkmoondreamer, mao, shirleyd, yardqueen and JJGardner.
All of those who asked for one from either above or below will get what they wished for.
By the way, I only kept 2 for myself, so I may be calling on some of you next year if I have a problem.
My blooms were darker than the one bettydee posted and I hope they do the same for you but there's no accounting for soil, temperature and droughts.
I would prefer if everyone sent cash. I live way out of town and it is a pain to deposit all those little checks.
PLEASE INCLUDE YOUR DG NAME. If you do not, I cannot tell by your real name who you are and send you the correct brug nor mark my list. My address is in the exchange, under "extras" in the second row of tabs on the home page.
Sorry about the rest of you; maybe next year. I will have some cuttings of some others to give away soon.....Betty
Thanks Betty...I mailed mine off yesterday...
Dusty
