I'd posted this before, but without luck - my picture too was probably did not give much detail. Now I've a better picture and I'm posting it here with a hope of placing it exactly where it belongs. I'm sure someone will come up with a clue. I'd hand sprayed some water on the web for a trial shot of a 'pearly web'!

This is an orb weaving spider (family Araneidae); namely a spiny orb weaver, Gasteracantha geminata - see http://flickr.com/photos/drsaji/2595500591/ - I thought that you had received an answer to your earlier posting.
Aaah, yes, I now recollect clearly as soon as I saw that link on flickr again. I'll now post it appropriately. Many thanks Suunto. Your memory is better than mine.
