I have a prized viburnum with golden berries, and someone broke a large branch off. If I make cuttings from the ends of the branches, and stick them in the ground will they root over winter?
Can I root broken Viburnum branch?
There are no doubt exceptions, but many viburnums reproduce very well from cuttings. A couple of month ago I took cuttings of a Viburnum rhytidophyllum and now I have well rooted baby V. rhytidophyllums. I did use rooting hormone, but they may very well root fine without it.

To second Amanda's thoughts, most viburnums should root from cuttings. You might try to use some of the harder wood cuttings as well as softwood cutting. The hardwood cuttings can be set outside in a sandy mix over the winter. The softwood cuttings should be kept away from the cold of winter. Maybe a garage, cold frame of greenhouse if possible.
Hope this helps
