Karen, i'm sorry to hear about your little dog. I had a horrible incedent happen with my Queensland Heeler "Buddy" back in Feb. He kept getting out of his yard. 6 foot chain link fence, he decided to try and go over the top and got hung up. I came home from work and found him, dead. I had nightmares for a week. I have his son Bucky whom has just recovered from having a Mast Cell Tumor removed. I keep a very close eye on him.

(Audrey) Dyersburg, TN(Zone 7a)

I'll keep thinking of you, Karen! Hang in there!

Minneapolis, MN

Karen, I am thinking positive about Lily. I think some kind soul brought her in out of the cold. I am still hoping and praying that is exactly what happened.

Hi to all of you newbies! Thanks Caren. : ) I Won! Yippee. Hi to all you seasoned Hotties. Kind of hard to check in with Amiyah running afoot. lol. I know that if I do come on, it is very hard to get off and she needs my attention more and more everyday. (Caught her doing a balancing act on her crib the other day)

Peg, I got something in the mail today!!!!! Thank you.

Well got to go check on dinner. The DH got extra hours tonight for running the after school sports kids back home, so a late dinner tonight.

And, I got to cover the tomato and peppers again tonight! boo hoo. But, this isn't supposed to last long and I have some loaded plants.

Hopefully, see you in a bit. : )

South Coast, RI(Zone 6b)

Karen I am so sad you were not able to find her, please do check in with the local vets and shelters. Someone may have dropped her off there.

Wow Kim what a flush you have coming there. Can’t to see them open, hope Mr Jack stays away for a while longer.

Chantell, we are all doomed here with our list of must haves getting longer by day. This a great place to share, it is amazing how fast your collection can grow.

Clemen your are showing off with your French, wish I could do it too.

AuntB It would be nice to have Lisa stay longer but I am trying to convince her she can go back on Tuesday. She has used up all her leave time and has already borrowed 7 day so as of next Tuesday she can not get another day off until Feb. I am getting stronger every day but I still can not do much of anything. Driving and shopping are still a ways in the future. I do think I will be alright here; Christina is on LOA and can come down and help a couple of days a week. Hope you are getting everything else ready to come. Lisa dusted all the plants in the basement with some anti fungal powder today and she did all the spraying last weekend. She also put some of the hardy hibs in the ground today.

Sandy, I guess the Mr Jack has found you, covering the veggies is not a lot of fun. I am ready for him here, actually waiting so Lisa can cut off the Canna and Dahlias. I just can’t do it if they are blooming

Welcome Cindy, I think I miss you the other day when you posted.

Waving hi to all, so good to have everyone here. I know I’m going mix up the names, let me know if I do.

South Coast, RI(Zone 6b)

We are just getting intermitent spots of the Jack coming to town. So far I have been lucky. I am not covering em up tonight cause it will stay in the 40's but tomorrow night may get as low as 36. Might just pick off everything.

Karen, you will find Lily. With a face like that, someone has opened up their home to her.

Nassau County, NY(Zone 7a)

Karen I never ever want to be in your shoes with the "children". You know what I mean, they are kids to us.
Hey Ms. Donna, you have way too many energies lately, i love it, keep it going going baby! Like energizer
Where is The French lady, I welcome you and we are the foreigners here! Hello, come back.

I guess we are getting to be quite a big group, maybe we should start a sticky on top that tells our names and screen names???????????? I am getting so lost, anyone up for it???

Nassau County, NY(Zone 7a)

You are killing me Karen!

Minneapolis, MN

Good idea Clem. : )

Palestine, TX(Zone 8b)

Karen, I will keep Lily in my prayers. We love our babies and when we lose one for whatever the reason, it leaves a big hole in our hearts. The one blessing for me has always been to have another sweet baby there to give me kisses and hugs. I had a Lab that could really hug. My heart still hurts over him and he's been dead for 2 1/2 years. But I have two chihuahuas that keep me busy. I do pray that she is with someone and she is getting the care she needs. You know some dogs scream when they get really scared. It's possible that she got very scared with a close call and just took off without thinking about where she was going. I hope that is the case and like I said, someone may have her. Love, Jeanne

Nassau County, NY(Zone 7a)

Sandra we need a guinea pig to start this, I wish i could do it but have no time. mind you tuesday evenings, when i have time to chat, hooties are quiet, until midnight hits and another crowd comes in and by then i am in cloud 9.

(Karen) Frankston, TX(Zone 8a)

I wanted to tell you all that out of all my cuttings I had about 5 die. They were all soft, flexible green cuttings. They rotted in the water and turned to mushy spinach...The 2 that didn't rot in the water turned to mush in the Orchid Moss. All of my hardwood cuttings have sprouted leaves and are thriving.

When I was at Ken and Maggi's house last weekend Maggi mentioned that you couldn't root green cuttings. I'd never heard that before. I guess some are successful with it but it seems much, much harder.

Miriam, it's so good to have you here! My first husband was from Denison and I know it well. I believe his mother still lives there. I spent many holidays there.

Henderson, NC(Zone 7b)

Karen I getting here late and haven't read all the posts, but I pray that you have your baby and all is well. My heart hurts for you. I'm going back now to read more and I do hope you have posted good news.

(Mary) Poway, CA(Zone 10a)

If you're going to try green cuttings you'd have better luck in the Spring. It's easier to root almost everything once the days start getting longer. That's their natural time to grow or root. Unfortunately, it's the fall when so many cut back on their plants if they have to bring them in, so that's when most cuttings are available. If you root one in four you're doing well.

Palestine, TX(Zone 8b)

So far my cuttings are doing good. I repotted them in miracle grow potting soil with root stimulant and put into a zip lock. Now the bags are open. Tomorrow I will take them out of the bags. They already have new leaf buds on them. I have had a 50-50 success rate with my surfinias. They were herbaceus stem cuttings. I'm so new at this. I am having fun learning though.

Nassau County, NY(Zone 7a)

So sorry baby, i only wish i could tell you that she made it all the way to NY and I have here next to Copo and you can come and pick her up and then i could meet you in person, I'll keep my prayers going!
