Anyone tried to plant these and see if they will grow?
Lavina
Crepe Myrtle seeds
I've never tried them but I know other people have and they will grow--the trouble with them is most of the CM's out there are hybrid cultivars that won't come true from seed. Normally this wouldn't be a big deal unless you were really picky about flower color, but unfortunately many of the hybrids have also been bred for resistance to powdery mildew and things like that, and the seedlings may not have the same level of disease resistance. And CM's have widely varying heights and again since it may not come true from seed it may be hard to predict how big it will get which makes figuring out where to plant it a lot trickier. So personally I'd probably go for propagating from cuttings instead, that way you know what you're getting.
