Did anyone grow a yellow

Noblesville, IN(Zone 5a)

I would love to see a picture of one if you did. I grew the seeds in a sealed seed pack sent to me by someone here and they sure weren't yellow. Purple purple purple

mine weren't either. :(

Can either of you share any photos of what type of plants were produced (?)

What species of yellow MG were they supposed to be (?)

I'm curious...

The were supposed to be: Yellow Morning Glory
Ipomoea ochracea

I will have to take a pic.of what I got.

I am aware of Ipomoea ochracea flowering in Florida,Southern Texas and California...it is a late fall / winter flowering species and needs warm sunny weather during the winter to flower and produce seeds...

i have yellow morning glories this year, but the flowers are tiny

Well the plants that came from the seeds did very well until they bloomed.

i dreamed last night i had a yellow morning glory flower 12 inches in diameter!

That would be one big MG bloom. It would be a pretty one though.

yeah, to bad dreams don't come true

Ron - Thank you for the info about Ipomoea ochracea - I planted a couple of seeds in a pot in Spring - one survived & has grown up an iron trellis in the pot this summer - never looked that great, though - small leaves & not abundant, either. No blooms, & I was wondering whether to spend the effort to keep it in the greenhouse this winter. Now, I surely will! Samantha

Samantha - Ipomoea ochracea is a perennial and the perennials often flower best after the root has a year or 2 to enlarge sufficiently and build up a nutrient supply that the plant senses is adequate to insure survival before expending energy on flowering...

Hope that helps...

I grew it last year, kept it in my makeshift greenhouse with just a heat lamp for real cold days. It still got damaged one night but recovered & I did get a couple of blooms in March finally. I think I even got a seed but the plant did die and I decided not to grow it this year.

The point to this post was people should send the right seeds. If they aren't sure they should say I think this is ?
