That 'Remembering John' is a special strep...I have leaf cuttings down and am so glad.

Here's an old photo of a Glox I've had for a few years. I hope I still have it somewhere ... sometimes plants go dormant and I end up dumping the pot, thinking a plant died! I have a pot on one of the stands that is empty and I'm thinking it's this one.

One of the Episcia noids I found at Wal-Mart. I think someone said this looks like it might be 'Lil Lemon'.

another noid from Wal-Mart. I'm not sure what's going on with the leaf edges ... see the rusty color on a couple of leaves? There are also a couple of leaves that one of the cats has been grazing on!

Where are ya,Gail? Looks like you and I are having our own little "old photo" party here!

(Zone 1)

One last pic and then I've got to get off this computer and get busy!

This on is a Chrysothemis:

Oh, Gail . . . you're being silly! But, I'm also feeling a bit cranky, so will stop this train of thought. . .

The Fancy Pants baby you gave me just sits there. A few of the leaves have dried up, but as long as the rest are green and mostly happy, I guess that's ok. I keep remembering what you've said about plants coming back after they look like they're beyond hope . . . and it may be my overactive imagination, but I think I see a small stub of green in the center . . . I'll take a pic when I get home.

Taft, TX(Zone 9a)

Lin, that columnea is fabulous looking with the yellow blooms. Of course I love the Chrysothemis.

Syrumani, I have babies coming from Fancy Pants...........try to remind me you want one.........

Whitsett, NC(Zone 8a)

Thanks, Gail. I will try to be patient, and wait and see what happens with the one I've got . . . as well as the other streps I've got!

I am learning to not overwater and when a plant dries out to not OVERWATER BECAUSE IT DRIED OUT.`

Great pictures!

Frederick, MD(Zone 7a)

Wondeful pics!
Lin, did you have the chrysothemis outdoors? It looks happy. And I do believe the one episcia is Lil Lemon.

SW, WI(Zone 4b)

omigosh!! You girls are just full of surprises.

Oh, to grow a Columnea that looks like that...I've given up on them:(

The Chrysothemis: I do believe I had that plant at one time...it barely hung in there, and NEVER bloomed for me....it's absolutely beautiful Lin!

I see such things and am then convinced that I need to move to FLA.....but then....I don't! (Ü)

Join us in this gosh awful heat if you want to, Nan...........but I would stay where you are. There are advantages to each zone.

I still have these planters, jannich!

Rob's Woomooloo.........she must have been new to have a name. Why does Rob put his name on everything???????? It makes his plant so less exciting because they all sound alike.

South, TX

Gail, I agree! I am so tired of his name on everything. Darling pictures!!!

Frederick, MD(Zone 7a)

I am in there with you guys about the 'Rob's" thing. I can't go there with the "Ma's" thing either. I will say he has hybridized so many outstanding plants but The "Rob's" turns me off as well as some of the weird names.

South, TX

I guess we notice even more since there are so many. I know other people have thier names too, but Rob has so many.

Just out of curiosity, who is using their own first name?

South, TX

I guess I can't think right now. Ness? Sometimes I see them, but I don't notice unless it is Ma's or Rob's. I notice names on First Class.

now you have me thinking, Sally...........going to see who Ness is?

Palm Bay, FL(Zone 9b)

Great blooms everyone.
Lin, is the chrysothemis the plant you posted about a couple of months ago? In that post you said you found it at HD. I printed out the picture and carried it back and forth to HD for weeks looking for it. The girl in the garden dept. said she never saw it before. I think they get different plants at different stores. I'll keep looking though.

(Zone 1)

Yes Eileen, that's the one. The last time I was at our HD a couple of weeks ago they still had them, outside with the landscape plants!

Taft, TX(Zone 9a)

I saw it for sale on either LL or Rob's.............

Old photo of vintage violet, "Willodene"..

Looking through my old photos and seeing Chirita tamiana makes me think I'd like to try it again sometime. Easy to grow from leaves. Not much bigger than a miniature violet.

Taft, TX(Zone 9a)

I grew chirita tamiana last winter from seed and had them everywhere for 6 months. They are fun to grow. I had so many that I put them in a pan pot where they bloomed together.

Willodene is one of the few african violets I grew. I bought it from the very first sale I went to. Yours is fabulous as always.
