This little guy was amongst this morning's breakfast crowd. He wasn't very interested in the main menu and went off to sample one of our more common weeds. I guess he was a beans and tortillas kind of guy.

Only problem is that one doesn't seem to be anywhere near you, more Brazil direction. There was a pic of the Northern Mestra but hte link went to the Common Mestra.

Google Northern Mestra

There's a pic on here which matches and looks the same! Mestra amymone (Northern Mestra)

That looks like it's in your area,

"Range: Costa Rica north through Central America to Mexico and South Texas. Strays north to South Dakota and Minnesota."

Certainly Mestra Amymone (northern Mestra)
Many thanks.

Not very common here.
We appear to have had a "Hatching". We are flooded with the orange Julias and Swallowtails.

You're welcome!

It would be good if you could put the identified ones in BugFiles, easy to make a new entry but if you need help just ask! I open two sites so I can copy and paste the Order and Family, and have another site open with the name on to do the same with the name, saves making errors in spelling. BTW, the species part of the name should always start with lower case. Mestra amymone
