I was just wondering if it is too late in the year to try to root camellias. We won't get our first frost until mid december. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Is it too late to try to root camellias?
I took some cuttings last Feb. I pulled off the buds and stuck them in community pots, watered well, let the pot dry for a day and covered with a plastic bag. I put the pot in shade on the N side of my house and left the cover on until mid-April. I lost a bunch but the remainder have survived with minimal care. I think you could take cuttings anytime but take care that they aren't over or under watered.
Thanks Twiggybuds, I believe I am going to try it this week.
