I'm not absolutely certain, but I think Tachinidae, the feet and hairs look right.

It resembles the Genus Gastrolepta but I haven't found one with the white marks on the thorax,

Thank you, I feel you're right about the family, didn't find an exact match though in the Diptera site.. so I'll continue my search.

Oh, I was on the diptera-site while you were posting, so I'll check your other links

I googled for more pictures, other than in the Diptera site, but only came up with Gastrolepta anthracina, looks very similar in body shape but not the white markings..It was the only specie mentioned on a Belgian inventory site (sadly without pictures)
I have more pictures but these are a bit blurry..

from this angle it looks like it has a smiley with big eyes on its thorax, lol!

On this one we have a better idea of its abdomen..

That's the only one I could find too, there are a lot of flies which haven't as yet been documentes with pics. It could easily be another genus, maybe this one is for the diptera specialists, and with such distinctive marks it shouldn't be too difficult for them.

It does look like a smiley, lol!

Thanks a lot! I'll try (!!!) to post it on the Diptera site.

I managed to post it on the Diptera site and it got identified as being the male of Limnophora tigrina, Muscidae family.

Lol, see how easy it is to be wrong with flies!
