CLOSED: Brazilian butterflies..

Gent, Belgium(Zone 8a)

While ordering my pics , I came upon some old butterfly pics I took with a borrowed camera from my friend , had none of my own at the time :-( . The place is in Itamonte, a mountainous area . They were taken in December 2004, the butterflies were sunning on the warm stony borders of a wild river.
I would love to have their id..

Nr.2

I cropped out the black butterfly of the same picture. I hope the quality is good enough for an id..

Thank you Fly_girl!
I'll try to check the links tomorrow as my computer is behaving strange and refuses to open them..

#4 could be a Tegosa sp.,

Found a list of SOME species in Sth America with 3 Tegosa sp., although none of these are mentioned as being in Brazil (see codes at top)

This site is good, it has more species mentioned for Brazil including one on the last link, Tegosa claudina which there are a lot of pics of. I can't find pics of the others.

I have found a great site with many thumbnail pics for each Family of butterflies in Central to Sth America!

Now which ones to go to, lol, by clicking one one of these you can then click on the 'thumbnail' link for each section, which brings up a page of thumbnails.

That's a great site indeed!

Thanks so much, yes it's certainly a Tegosa specie!
I think Tegosa anieta (Black-bordered Crescent) is the closest match.. (but my very cropped picture is of a rather poor quality ..)
