LILY BULB SALE in Des Moines,Iowa!
What, no Iowa DGers coming?
I'm painting windows....
Don't you have those done yet? Lord knows I need to climb up on our roof tommorrow morning & paint our windows + front door before I run off to pack lilybulbs for the sale.
Hey, We just got them a week ago last Wednesday, and I have 20 to do... Thpppppppppppppt.
Well, you picked a good weekend for it!
The lily bulbs are all packaged and ready for the sale tables, so come Saturday morning, Oct 18, the lily population in Iowa gardens will increase.
Be a part of the population explosion! Be at the Merle Hay Mall in Des Moines by 10:00am and take home a sack full of plump, healthy, hearty lily bulbs.
See you there, in the area just outside the Target store.
Wish I could be with you all. Have a great sale! With you lily addicts at the tables, I have no doubt that you will ;)
How did it go? Did you get rid of all of those beauties?
Hi Tracey,
We did an outstanding job of not only increasing the lily population in Iowa and the best parts of Nebraska, we had the opportunity to spread the word about lilies to practically everyone who walked past our booth!
More pictures are on the web site under the "Fall Bulb Sale" link at www.irls.org
Awwww, you guys always look so good ;) Who wouldn't buy lilies from that bunch?
Anybody that knows us well? ;) lol
A few members generously donated bulbs from their own gardens for the sale. Some were too small to sell so were bagged up for members to take for free.
The best part of the day was when we had a couple of young ladies, maybe 12-ish, and their eyes just lit up seeing pics of those pretty lilies. Mom didn't look too interested in buying so we gave them a few from the freebie table. They were positively beaming(!) that they had some lilies of their own to grow.
Great that you were able to encourage those young lily lovers!!
