This is a skipper (Lepidoptera: Hesperiidae). However, there are several Central American species with this general color pattern. Hopefully, a specialist may be able to identify it specifically.

Lincoln, United Kingdom(Zone 8a)

All the spots are in the right place for Barisses Silverdrop (Epargyreus barisses), but yours are a bit smaller.

Weak-spotted Silverdrop (Epargyreus spinosa) is close but seems to lack a spot or two,

It seems to fit one of them, female and male difference maybe?

E. barisses is nowhere near you, but E. spinosa is.

Looks close in this pic

I think the next one is closest yet and may be it! E. exadeus cruza, all the spots are there, the larger centre one on yours looks partly hidden.

According the this site E. exadeus is in Guatemala and other places, E. exadeus cruza in Mexico:

Somehow E. exadeus doesn't look right!
