Tammy that looks awesome! I want to try that. Did you plant them by slits or digging out patches of and replacing? A member on the NE forum did it both ways and is now waiting to see the results. I'm going to do it with crocus.
What bulbs is everyone planting right now?
Thanks for the nice comments. I've just opened a slot with the spade
and put in a bulb in previous years (with results you see) but this fall
I dug out about a foot circle of "grass" and dug in 3-5 bulbs. I'm hoping
to have a bit more drama this way. I put in 300 bulbs 2006 and another
300 2007 and this year 250. I'm hoping for a traffic stopping display next
spring. :-)
Sounds totally luvy Tammy. Looking forward to seeing the pics.
well dahlianut thank you - I would say you can expect the first show in late February and then on through March :-) I am fortunate on this property that the soil drains well and so all of the previous years' stuff should come back. Then, I get to sit back and watch the shows from the northern gardens!!
Tammy, that does look really nice. We have St Augustine and Bermuda grass though and it spreads really aggressively and not sure how well the sprouts would make it through. Your landscape looks very natural and I can only imagine in a few years as the bulbs multiply and the show becomes more dense!
LOL SteveFtWorth I'm definitely a late bloomer ^_^
