John, that one may be a Little Blue Dragonlet, Erythrodiplax minicula. I'm not that familiar with dragons from outside the US, but I thought I would venture a guess.

Thank you for the pointer. Both my dragonflies have pictures in the Band Winged Dragonfly folder. Erythrodiplatz Umbrata. The one with the black bands is probably correct but the other obviously is not.

Wow, thanks for the link. How confusing. It appears that dragonflies can't get their act together.
This is raher like one of my Vines which changes it's leaf shape and layout as it matures.
I remember reading that dragonflies take years to mature and that like most small helicopters their legs are simply landing gear and they can't walk. Fascinating creatures.
