Commanders Jordan, Josh, and Moxon have PIPS!! Updates here!

Oxford, NS(Zone 5b)

Commander Moxon sadly reporting death in egg. Chick was peeping and active when we left at 3:30 pm, but is now dead. Not sure what happened? The other one (serama) appears OK. I opened the dead egg. Bird is perfect looking. No signs of trauma or other ill effects. Very sad.

Hopeful that the other one will make it.

Great pic Commander Jordan! Looks like zipping may have begun!

Commander Josh, we demand photographic evidence immediately!

Moxon reporting second chick of serama variety still peeping in shellero and pip looking OK, so hopefully will hatch out today. I can see its beak.

Oxford, NS(Zone 5b)

Commander Jordan, I would guess within the next 2 hours. But that is by no means a guarantee. Chicks do their thing on their own schedule!

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

Definitely the wrong pic! LOL! If that life form were peeping, I'd be taking it to the vet!

The capsule is definitely in the zipping process. Probably less than an hour left to hatch point! Way to go!!!

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

Cmmander Jordan so eggcited. there is now a little hole in the white part, but life form is now quiet

Lodi, CA(Zone 9b)

Good morning all. Mother Bird reporting for duty. Sore, Tired and moving slow. LOL

Commander Jordan, wrong pic is a darling life form..

Commander Jordan - Life form is probably resting. Patience is required in this process, as you are so very aware now! I guess I was wrong on my time estimate. Sorry 'bout that!

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

Commander Moxon, Commander Jordan rgrets patience is not my strongest virtue

Oxford, NS(Zone 5b)

Commander Jordan - I think this is a common affliction among chicken egg hatchers. We need to develop a patience pill that will make us temporarily forget that we have pips going on. Perhaps Commander Josh can work on this for us, since he has the special chicken fever patch under development also. What do you say, Commander Josh?

Dunnellon, FL(Zone 9a)

Commander Jordan- Do you think your pupper-dog has enough toys?? I think NOT :) LoL

londonderry, Australia

commander moxon i could look into it but i would need tf and catscan so as to better the effect

Oxford, NS(Zone 5b)

Commander Jordan - any update?

My serama has begun to zip.

londonderry, Australia

nope i have intiated first feeding though

(Zone 7b)

Lucky give your little one a small amount and when you notice his crop is empty give him some more.
Ive never really observed how often they feed them don't have the time.

But i know every time i check on them which is twice a day they have food in their crops.

londonderry, Australia

it is easy about every 3 hours and i feed it wombaroo milk it loves the stuff

Oxford, NS(Zone 5b)

Um, what's wombaroo milk?

Edited to say that I'm worried you're going to tell me that it's a mix of wombat and kangaroo milk.

Also, I saw a wombat at a zoo once. It was so adorably cute, I wanted to take it home with me. Do you ever see wombats?

Commanders Josh and Moxon:

Tf is out of range establishing a new top secret launch base--Area Chicken 51.

NPGC recovering from excessive egg bidding, but is feeling much better now. Still suffering slight case of Fayoumi-itis.

Patience pill--FFFPT! No problem.
